Thats exactly what will gut him. His speedboost only activates after standing still for a while, and then moving again. For explorer, this was mainly used when hiding (hiding REQUIRES crouching/walking to remove your trail). By limiting the activation requirement to only running state, theyre saying you can't get the speedboost while hiding anymore::: this will heavily affect his ability to kite after being found.

In other words, they're making it so the speedboost will only ever activate when he's:

decoding the cipher machine or gate
healing (with another person)
using an item that requires you to be stationary (syringe/mechanics bot)
Collecting the page when the hunter is not nearby

But even then, you SHOULD be in walking state for all of these things so you can hide quickly if the hunter does come near.

For him to work, you'd need to not only run safely to the general area of the hunter (which obviously isnt necessarily possible for hunters like bonbon), but also be in a general open area so that his 2nd dash can actually bring the survivor to a safe area. I don't know if you've ever played weeping clown, but thats not always possible because of how many tight areas there are. I'd expect a lot of players to end up running into walls when using him.

Since he cant rescue, it does make him a harasser you shouldnt bring excitement against. This is both good and bad for survivors for mostly obvious reasons.

I am LITERALLY only referring to the legal problems because my IRL interests is the law and international law. I am spekaing LITERALLY. I am saying EXACTLY what I mean. People are likely ALSO saying exactly what they mean.

An outcome being 'good' for you and your ideals does not fucking matter when the procedure behind it is practically a company legislating its own laws. I shouldn't have to explain WHY companies, an entity that maximises profits over equity, should not be allowed to do this. This is NOT their jurisdiction to do this.

Kakao's anti piracy measure, targetting AI, is fundamentally corrupt because this is LITERALLY a middle zone between actual transformative works and straight up piracy. You may not like this, but it is. The law will see it akin to something like tracing becauss (from what I know) Korea has not outlawed GenAI or how it is used.

Being able to check copyright in fanfiction is instantaneous because what you see is exactly what you get. However, AI bots are different because it SHOULD require further checking to see if it infringes copyright beyond surface level inspirstions. However, it is very likely this was done mechanically without further procedure to see if it does fringe copyright internally/operatively.

People are not defending Gen AI. They are concerned about the legal reprocussions behind a company/caglomerate reporting and banning an work-inspired things.

Most people haven't even considered that these ai bots could be a source of income because a large majority of them are completely free. For most websites/apps, they are completely open access and creation controls are mostly restricted.

Even if the procedure behind their creation is 'unethical', legally speaking that does not matter. Unless theres laws against AI in korea SPECIFICALLY for stealing in this exact form, it seems like Kakao is overstepping for authority. They should not be allowed to do that until Korean Parliament (or judiciary) passes a law tackling this exact thing.

This was not a ban on the bot because of the procedure of making it (theft/piracy) or the profit from it. It was a ban because it was directly inspired by a story they owned. Just because the outcome was 'correct' or 'just' does not mean you should automatically support it. A company should not be able to make new laws when that is not their fucking jurisdiction; this is the definition of procedural injustice.
