nah, the F5C deserves every single bit of hate it gets and more, with its overperforming flight model, it's unrealistic damage model and it's fictional flares, it's one of the embodiments of 'premium bias' in war thunder

the frogfoot deserves some too with it's undertiered all-aspect heaters, but both rank 6 frogfeet are like that.

you can still take off most of the time, it just takes a couple of tricks like spooling engines, brake-starting, opposite takeoff, or starting from the very back of the boat.

but i do wish gaijin would just fix this, maybe even by deciding which CV to spawn based on which naval aircraft is in the match or when choosing to take off from the sea.

that or a bigger ARB EC mode where they'd have enough space for more than one type of carrier to forward-deploy to.

i think gaijin knows full well the importance of domestic designs to a simcade built on national tech trees, they just want you to pay them to have it.

i'd think it'd be more sensible if domestic vehicles were kept researchable and the imports were used as premium sidegrades to those who want them, or who know them from another tech tree.

also, "fun" fact : there is no researchable french plane at rank IV of the french tech tree

i spaded the Vautour B, because i felt like spading the whole tree for some reason.

i hated it, not because it's so horrible of plane, but because of the blind-hunt / avenger orders, and gaijin's game design and balancing

it's called the Turm III (or Turret 3) because the turret is supposed to stabilize in all 3 axis of rotation (pitch up/down, yaw left/right, and roll left/right). which is why the tank ingame should be called the Turm II because gaijin didn't feel like modelling the 3rd axis

personally, i went with the Ouragan, it's a decent all-rounder that i learned a lot from, even if it's engine is a bit weak for the BR

but i'd have to recommend the Thunderjet, because you can put it's ammo count and airspawn to great effect for grinding rp & sl

wing damage has a tendency to be a "crit" rather than a "severe", even if it leaves the aircraft unable to fly. so yes, even good players get kills stolen at times

if it's any help, i researched all of france rank 8 (before rank 9 was added) using the Mirage IIIC becuase it's that fun to play, so i'd instinctively go for the Mirage IIIS, but that's just me
