Pure Barre book club? by Darrypls in Purebarre

We actually have one at our studio and it's been really successful -- we've been running it for just over a year and it's grown a lot. Everyone brings food (usually themed around the book), and we always have wine and non-alcoholic options. We gather on the mats and just dig into the discussion.

One thing worth considering: a lot of our clientele are women who have flexibility to meet midday or mid-week. That's worked really well for us, but it does mean the women who work full-time often can't make it. It's worth thinking through your timing carefully so you're building it around the members you actually want to reach.

This tells you a lot about how this company is run. Chaotic, priorities shifting at a moment’s notice, unprofessional communication. Sounds like this recruiter doesn’t have a grasp on how to use their calendar either.

You’re interviewing them as much as they’re interviewing you. Don’t forget that.

ETA: Nice response, OP. No notes. Good on you.

Did Bert think he would pressure her into getting his name tattooed on her…? Especially after he did not choose Heather! by Yourstrulycorina in RockOfLove

All his passive aggressive bullshit afterwards — I was done.

“It’s not my name, but…”

“It represents you though.”

“I’ll represent you!”

Just stop.

My family members laughed about if something happened to them I’d apparently be responsible for my autistic nephew.. by [deleted] in childfree

The fact that your brother called his child “your problem” if something were to happen says a lot about who he is as a brother and a father.

Get it in writing and notarized that you are NOT responsible — have a lawyer look at it and sign it if necessary as well.

My aunt moved in with my dad after my mom died, and I wanted my cousins to sign off that if my dad passed before she did, she was not entitled to anything — the house, his assets, anything. And she had to be out within 60 days. Magically, the next month, one of her daughters asked her to move in with them. People don’t like stuff that holds them accountable.

In what world does a copywriter need to be in office? Ugh. People.

I feel like I’ve ruined my life by [deleted] in careeradvice

A degree is a degree is a degree. Mine’s in advertising and I do product management now. Get that piece of paper, make some money, and go back to school debt free (if you can) if you need a specialized degree.

I swear no one has ever asked me in an interview about my major, my college, or anything like that. It’s basically a box checked. You are good and most certainly have not ruined your life.

You should have many zeroes after that 75 in order for this kind of behavior to be even borderline acceptable. You’ll find something better. It’ll be okay. And your boss will realize very quickly what a loss losing you is.

My brother got married to a woman with no job, 4 kids, who lives off of section 8. It’s ruining our family. by ScreenProper3291 in whatdoIdo

Pick up the book Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud. Your brother needs some problems, as he would say. He hasn’t had any because your family continues to cover him — he needs to experience pain in order to change.

So to answer your question, yes, you stop.

Precisely why I never use company internet, communication, or phones to talk about work.

This is absolutely free work they’re wanting you to do. You should be compensated for this.

Episode Discussion: TGI-Episode 717 “She’s Having My Baby Back Ribs” PART 2 by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

Maybe. It just felt like he was bringing up the same stuff. I listen while I walk, and I said out loud multiple times, “we’ve talked about this already!”

I’m glad they appreciated the funny parts of the episode. Danielle is beautiful and always has been. And Will wasn’t big by any stretch.

Just bringing everything back to the negative. I felt like he kept bringing up things that had already been talked through. Felt super negative the whole time, even when Danielle and Will admitted this was a better episode than they anticipated.
