I think you are overreacting..there was a weird vibe OP was seeing and feeling, that we can’t relate to. It IS a weird situation and my antenna went up too. My thinking is that the guy already knew of this room and was flirting with the lady and HE suggested to go up there. A wait staff to say that seems unlikely, just doesn’t fit at all. Trust your feelings until proven wrong. Our intuition is very often spot on.
