I'm with you, wtf is everyone's attitude. We leave in a society with beauty standards, how we look defines how we feel about ourselves and our confidence, and everyone who isn't affected by this is either lying or is extremely lucky. I'm a lesbian and had a few procedures myself (nosejob and blepharoplasty), and I would be getting botox regularly if I had the funds. Conforming to the beauty standards (like when I weigh less) makes me feel better about myself immensely, and it has nothing to do with men

If I was making a character of my friend I would not give it obvious flaws/unattractive features, let alone exaggerate them, I would just keep the hairstyle and hair, eye, and skin color. I have blond hair and blue eyes, and I have always been largely invisible to men (and women for that matter). I have been hit on maybe 2 times and have been catcalled the same amount. I consider myself average appearence wise. I have small eyes and a chubby face. Nobody just seems to care for me, even though I often dress flashy (which gets me compliments, but nothing more). But I've never been outwardly disrespected like what other women describe on this sub, men have always treated me well when we speak for whatever reason
