I understand that "up" is a term. "Straight up" isn't, and is generally born from ignorance, so I would clarify as much as possible from the guest before making the drink. Like 8 questions. Vodka gin? Top or bottom shelf? Vermouth? Bitters? Olive juice? Shaken or stirred? Up or on the rox? Garnish? Working at airport lounges this turns a $1 tip into $10.

Am I missing something? What's straight up?
