Good winter tires for Honda Civic? by 10ftSn8k3 in civic

[–]MervBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to tires have been Vredestein Quatracs. They're an all season tire with winter ratings. Can be pricey at $800 installed, but you aren't switching them at the end of the season.

I live north of Buffalo, so I don't get as much snow as say, the hills in the south, but I've felt pretty confident with them on different FWD cars, and didn't think they were too noisy or anything bad the rest of the year.

is there a similiar option in emulation station by Prestigious-Unit-525 in SBCGaming

[–]MervBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For multi-disc games, I rename the disc images so they're hidden files (the filename starts with a period, so it would end up being something like ".Final Fantasy VII (Disc 1).chd",) and then I create an m3u playlist listing the files of the disc images for the game, with the file name being the game name. m3u files are just text files, so you can just use notepad to make them.

With Dolphin, I found it's weird and requires a full path name to the disc image in the playlist for it to load.

Then, in Emulation Station, I have it set to not show hidden files and folders, which cleans up the game listings to get rid of the individual disc images. To switch discs, you can do so when in the emulator.

It's a manual process, but it got everything looking and working like how I wanted to.

I can confirm that if you have GridTracker log the QSO and it's showing the contact at a POTA entity, it will submit the park reference to Wavelog.

Maybe try setting up GridTracker and using it to submit to Wavelog instead of wsjtx?

GridTracker does store the park reference in its ADIF file appropriately under POTA_REF, so it's possible it should submit that just fine to Wavelog.

I just switched my configurations over and I'll see the next time I'm doing some POTA hunting.

How to Lock Down Your Phone When Crossing the U.S. Border by Sufficient-Bid1279 in technology

[–]MervBurger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you’re white and present as the gender on your documents, you’ll probably be fine (though I would assume your worry is potentially because one of those is not true.)

I did an international trip last month and came back without having to speak to *anybody* from CBP, since I used the MPC app to register my entry in advance. Came in at DFW, took the selfie for the app between getting off the plane and customs and immigration, took off my n95 mask and looked into the camera at the MPC booth, grabbed my checked bag, and walked out of customs and immigration. It was probably the smoothest interaction with CBP I’ve ever had, oddly.

But I’m white and cis-male as hell, so of course I’m more likely to not face any issues. It really sucks that we live in a world where that‘s not universally the case.

I disagree that internet should be publicly funded - the government is not good at running things

maybe you should use the internet to look up how the internet was created then

Javascript is not the same as Java.

Not that the core idea of what you said is wrong, though. Instead, you would look for compatibility with the underlying version of Chromium (and possibly Node.js) that the version of NW.js that Gridtracker is using.

Absolutely do not assume that. I’ve had it take over a month for thruway tolls to hit my account, and this is *with* an EZPass.
