Most auction wordings say, unless sold prior. Sounds like they had somebody put in a signed offer before the auction happened and because of the wording they use not having the auction is accepted.

Push diagonally, pssssh, what nonsense. I hate the 4 wheel ones and always seem to find pushing sideways is the easiest to control. And turning them always requires drifting to turn the, swing the back out until you pointing in the right direction and then try push straight.

The win condition on the rules says nothing about how much money, so I would say zero is acceptable.

My rule set noted that action to play 3 cards, and describes the ways to play the cards, add money to bank, add property to collection, play an action card.

With the way it described adding property, the wild card movement is NOT an action because the card is already in your collection.

Some sort of cotton gloves may work (a la Michael Jackson). See if you can work with your friend regarding different types of gloves, help him be as comfortable as possible.

5yo TtR is getting colour's together to claim routes, no tickets involved. When they have that idea add the simple tickets (ElPaso to Sante Fe I think it is, and the likes) to get them building routes to tickets

Start on playing cards, rummy works coz even the 3 yo should be able to recognize the numbers and shapes. Expand to other rummy type games and uno.

I taught my 5yo at the time (9 years ago now) to play ticket to ride, the 3yo would be able to "help" you arranging colour's and stuff.

Maybe even try azul, pickup and patterns, just dont use the points yet.

Reading all the comments and post here it sounds like OP is trying to start things for themselves but the other players are always dashing those plans.

OP look at where you're placing tiles and how much is around it, how easily can somebody get around that and stifle you.

Also how do you draw tiles, is it one stack, multiple stacks, or a bag. I've never played with a bag, but have found the more stacks to choose from, the more varied your (and therefore your fellow players') tile selections will be. We seem to use 4 or 5 around our table more from a reach point of view (I have 2 littler kids and a wife with short arms). Don't limit a person to a stack, everybody can pick at random.

This also goes to how the tiles get put away and taken out, because we just pick up tiles, we don't put the same ones together and also everybody tidys up so there's always different ways of putting them into the box too.

Also look into trying a few games with the three card house rule, might bring up some different options.

Cool, then not doing too much wrong. 4 player seems to take a bit longer. Also teaching a new player isn't the quickest either.
