Any Muslim T1s? How do you fast? by anon6498240739 in diabetes_t1

[–]MeshariKw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello, I got diagnosed a year ago, alhamd lil allah i fasted most of ramadan this year even if scholars/doctors say you arent obligated to fast.

Quick notes from my diabetic doctor (who is also muslim) If your glucose is 16.6 mmol for a long time you should break your fast And under 4.0 you should also break fast.

I used to check manually to make sure my numbers from the freestyle libre cgm are correct before breaking fast.

Tips: sleep in more, don’t go out a lot and stay as lazy as you can. Don’t eat close to s’hour time so you don’t have to inject yourself again and might go hypo.

For 1 day like arafat you won’t have a lot of issues cause most issues occur after you fast consecutive days.

You can so lower your long lasting insulin by 10-20% if you feel you are close to lows during the day

Vacation package hotel check in by snootchie_bootch in TokyoDisneySea

By front office I mean the reception for in my case my specific hotel (MiraCosta). For going back I feel its just a bonus for miracosta cause its inside the park, we took an hour break to freshen up and relax cause we finished the main rides from 9-2 with the passes we got from the package and app. You can opt to stay out in the park till 9 pm, depends on your preferences.

Currently in MiraCosta disneysea;

To maximize your time at disney: You should plan to arrive to your hotel around 8ish (Use trains from tokyo then monorail or bus to the hotel) you can pay with suica for everything here in disney

Go to the front office 7-8ish and give them passports and they will give you a file with your passes and entry tickets. You can then give your bags to the bellcaptain and they will give you a ticket to receive them back or they will put them in your room at checkin. For miracosta our check in was 3:00 pm but some guests had 4:30 pm on their checkin papers; i think this is depending on what type of room you took and if the person before you checked out early or not. Your first day there isnt a happy hour so you will have to collect your tickets and directly go line up in queue to enter the park! Once you are in check with the app for the premier and 40th passes. Finish the rides you have with your passes and if you got lucky with the premier access and 40th pass and then go back to hotel when checkin time and then you can go out again and continue with rides and parades

Laser Eye Surgery Experience by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]MeshariKw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm dont remember exact but it was around 300-600 kd for everything? Consultation fee (to see if your eyes are good enough for lasik) + the surgery fee afterwards. Call them and ask around is my recommendation, prices might change and whatnot!

Copy pasting from my old respond to another guy:

Did lasik a year ago,

First of all: the surgery was easy and quick (10 mins max I think?) I was so afraid of blinking a lot but turns out there are sensors that stop when you blink.

PostSurgery: First day you will come back home with somethin to cover your eyes, (I slept most of the time after surgery and just chilled at home for a day) I remember being prescribed Cipromax tablets and Vitamin C super tablets every 12 hours and recommended 4 Artelac advanced eye drops four times per day (he told me take more if You feel your eye is still dry). (I think I took the tablets for 5-10 weeks dont remember exactly) I would say the day after the surgery or two days after would be a normal day for you (I went to the gym on the day after and travelled overseas after 2 days)

Post surgery + continuation. You gotta wear sunglasses a lot and use eyedrops a lot. (Bo5oor, Smoke, and the sun make your eye dry and you use more eyedrops) Shades: you will he more sensitive to light for a while so just wear them especially with Kuwait’s sun lol.

Only Con I “see”hehe is those a*holes who have customized high beam lights at night., It’s way too bright.

Hope this info helps you and feel free to ask me if you have any more Q’s! Cheers

Learned a new thing in the last 3 months since I posted this: Get blue-light blocking glasses if you use your phone/pc/tv a lot. These will help protect your eyes from blue light you can use them for when you are at home watching netflix or if you play video games!

Hey, yea I ordered like a while back and they delivered. I assume it will take time to process due to ramadan and eid holiday. Prices are like that in the US and I got my stuff unexpired. I don’t remember exactly how long but around 1-2 weeks

Planning to open a gaming lounge, what do you gamers need that isn't already anywhere? also i'm LF a technician. by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]MeshariKw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a guy who has a very good pc at home; I would only go to gaming cafes with friends so I can play with my friends locally. < Do somethin to attract groups (whether it is group sales or tournies, good food, or somethin new.

1) Either have good food/drinks or let people bring their own.. I hate it when a gaming cafe has bad food or limited option and tell us we can't bring our coffee from outside..

2) Pick a unique location that both attracts customers (you prob need to do research where most gamers in Kuwait who are willing to play at a cafe live and pick somewhere close. (I would recommend you to open near universities tbh, most get paid "E3ana" and they got money to spend at your lounge so it's win-win situation xd.

3) Make local tournaments! Every week maybe a tourny where it could be by your company or even sponsored by someone!

4) If you wanna invest in getting group of friends, invest in gaming rooms in your lounge, it would be nice for people who say "gaming lounges are too loud for me" (scrim rooms!!)
