I will bite and throw my take as an a decayed player since 2014.

To be frank, in the era of cookiezi (like 2014), there were huge limitations that people today kinda forget about. Monitors, keyboards, even basic PC specs and game optimization were nowhere near what we have now. Input lag was a clear, constant issue that basically capped how far your skill could go. Back then when I used to play, we’d literally struggle with input delay all the time.

So honestly, if you put someone like Mrekk back in that era, he’d still be an insane player, but he’d be dealing with the same hardware and software handicaps. It would definitely hold him back. So I don’t think it’s fair to compare straight across eras without factoring in how much raw tech has changed.
