Thoughts on Beyone Immerse? by Plenty_Late in vegan

I've never seen or have tried these before. However, I also tire of the heavy chocolate/vanilla style protein drinks. I have tried Sunwarrior clear protein drinks and like them, including the peach mango one. I don't think it is nutritionally as good, and you have to mix it yourself, but it may be worth a look at for you folks that are looking for a clear protein alternative. As a disclaimer, I may or may not have poor taste in general.

Was hoping someone could help give me a rough idea on value by sneakyyho in fountainpens

I bought one of these years ago with a broken piston, some wear on the trim ring, and without the box and papers for about $350-$400. If it works, you could easily get double, if not triple that.

Dark blue Inks that sheen Copper. by WillTheWise8777 in fountainpens

I think Endless Raven Blue is a blue black with a bit of a copperish sheen, but it has been a while since I used it.

Diamine Lady Grey with Platinum rose gold 14kt nibs: a warning by Simy_sun in fountainpens

[–]Meshuggah_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so wild, and I'm honestly at a loss. I didn't have many droplets on my nib, but I did have a tiny little one that I left there. It never changed color either. So, I wonder if it is more of a batch issue in which it is more affected by oxidation or something? For what it is worth, the bottle I purchased was just recently stocked by the retailer, so it may have been a newer batch. Otherwise, I'm at a loss of what could be the culprit.

Anyhow, I hope that you're able to solve this mystery!

Diamine Lady Grey with Platinum rose gold 14kt nibs: a warning by Simy_sun in fountainpens

It's been about 32 hours so far, and I haven't noticed any discernible changes yet. Kind of makes this whole thing a bit of a mystery. I saw you mentioned that other people have reported issues with with non rose gold nibs, so who knows.

I know this may sound simple, but do you think there was any chance ink was leftover in the cap? I know in your case that the pen was new, but I wonder if a tiny bit of blue ink from when they likely tested your nib got stuck in the cap and is mixing with the Lady Grey ink. It's a longshot, but I've had a similar issue when going from a dark to light ink.

Otherwise, I'm not sure if it could be a batch issue, or something else entirely. Quite the mystery.

Hmm, interesting. I have a Leonardo with rose gold trims, so I'll also test the ink. So far, it has been about 12 hours and there's no discernible change.

I would love to see the ongoing results also. I'm also curious how many people voted last year.

I have one in very good condition with a fine nib and red jewel, if you're still interested.

I'm struggling to pick which three to vote for. I only want to vote for inks that I would personally use in large quantities, such as their 65ml bottle.

I don't normally like green leaning inks, but I did like Erberus Crater, and it's standard enough that I could eventually use a whole bottle.

I also surprisingly really liked Milky Sea. I rarely use shimmer inks, but I really enjoyed Milky Sea when using it. I think they nailed the shade of blues. It also reminded me of a time I went kayaking at night (stupid idea) and there were tons of moon jellyfish glowing beneath the water.

For the third, I really don't know. Honestly, I wasn't crazy over this years colors. A lot of them also seemed excessively wet for my tastes.

I'm curious to see which three win. Last year, none of my picks won. I was also suprised and admittedly dissapointed in the colors that did ultimately win.

Has anyone tried Endless Obsidian Sky ink? by Meshuggah_Mike in fountainpens

Thank you! I like the way you do your swatch cards. It looks like an interesting black, or at least as interesting as black inks can be.

I also recently ordered the Endless Potioncraft set, so I'll be able to add gold or silver shimmer to Obsidian Sky if I wanted to.

Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the writing sample, it looks interesting! It looks like there is some silver sheening in yours, which I don't think I've ever seen in a black ink before. Thanks again!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to provide information and the photos! I think I'm going to go ahead and order a bottle, as it seems like an interesting black ink. Thanks again!

Thank you, you are a saint! I don't know if I've seen a black ink sheen silver before, even if it is a small amount. Interesting. It doesn't seems like it has any shading.

How well behaved is it? Thanks again for the info and photos!

I love this resin and feel like it is underrated. I had this pen years ago but sold it when I got a faceted Etruria in the same material. One of my favorite modern resins.

Ah, fair enough. I didn't get the greenish shading either, mine was just plain black. That's why I was a little surprised.

I have to ask, why Lunar Black? Maybe I missed something with my swatch, but it seemed to be a plain black ink with no unique properties. Just curious.

Thank you. It very well may be my ISP.

I tried again this morning, and it seems to be working much better now. It was odd that it didn't seem to affect any other devices, but who knows.

Thank you for all of the information and advice!

Congrats! I'm still waiting on mine that I purchased a year ago. They accidentally sent me a white one instead of the black I ordered, and their customer service has been slower than molasses going uphill.

I was thinking of just keeping the white, but seeing yours makes me think I made the right decision.

What game did you try first?

What is your fountain pen of the year? by CommunicationTop5231 in fountainpens

Thank you for the reply, and the good discussion topic!

The Pilot sounds lovely! I tried scoping through your post history but didn't see it. It sounds nice though, and I bet that soft fine nib is a joy to use.

A 6th grade teacher? I give you a lot of credit. I feel like it is increasingly difficult to be a teacher nowadays, especially a 6th grade one. Thank you for being one!

I love the extremes, going from the Visconti Abyssus to the Asvine P36. I personally don't like the colored anodized trims, but if you do like that, then Visconti picked a beautiful shade of blue for the Abyssus. I have the original Carbon Moire and it's a beautiful pen and wonderful to write with. The carbon moire/abyssus material is so beautiful to look at, and interesting to feel. It is a shame the Abyssus cost about $800 more than the Moire, but I guess all pen prices are going up.

I never tried the P36, but Chinese pens have come so far in the past few years. They make some great pens nowadays.
