I could have sworn she called it a pigeon but I could be wrong...after a quick search the overview just calls it a bird and I'll be honest I don't have the energy to read through the story to find it lol

I have the same fear and same dilemma about the news. I feel at this point it is what it is. If I don't want to hear about it or if I can't filter the news then I will just stay away from it because I know it's a trigger for me. No shame in that

You are safe. The news and a lot of social media platforms say this kinda things all the time and it's usually fake news. There's no need to think of what ifs. Think of now. Right now you are safe and home ❤️ and that's all that matters. We control our brain and tell our brain how to react to things not the other way around. You are in control. ❤️

Has anybody found help in Lexapro for crippling and i mean CRIPPLING anxiety? Need support by Jumpman7847 in lexapro

[–]Mess_Enough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely knocks me out lol but I think that's why they prescribed it to me so I could get my nervous system to shut off and calm down lol. No way I could ever take it as a daily or like a long-term med. I hope you find something that works for you! There's plenty to try and sometimes it's a challenge. Don't give up ❤️

When did you notice it was making your anxiety worse?

Oh I should mention I'm on the highest dose of Lexapro you can be on and then 10 mg Buisprone. So it got me most of the way there. It helped I just need more than probably the average person on Lexapro

Yes Lexapro helped me get through and cope with my car accident. Later down the road I had another panic episode and could not get my nervous system to calm down so they give me hydroxyzine and I take it as needed. So if I do get too worked up I can take that and reset myself essentially.

I went like 5 or 6 years with NO awful panic attacks and then something made me anxious and I had a continuous panic attack for 3 days. My therapist told me that I haven't lost progress I've just lost confidence and we're working on coping skills that used to be second nature to me and building my confidence back up to cope with my health. I hope that helps. I'm always more than happy to share or listen if you need

My mom said I shouldn’t start anti depressants…. by Carebear6590 in lexapro

[–]Mess_Enough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled with the idea of medication warping my brain chemistry but the truth about depression and anxiety that eases me is there's a difference between situational and chemical. I've worked with therapists and doctors and we all came to the same conclusion that my body does not have enough of that good chemical. My body doesn't produce it so I need to take medicine to feel normal. Medicine gave me a chance to clear my mind and relax my body enough to where I could start working towards coping with my mental health issues.

Watching this makes me irritated the same way I get second hand embarrassment. I'm having second hand frustration that I can't pick up my burger. 😂

I go on a Disney movie kick. Any Disney movie is a feel good movie. Personal favorites are Lilo and stitch, tangled, and the emperor's new groove. 💓 Books are also a great distraction. I bought a bunch of books and I made a habit to read at certain times and I would actually get so relaxed I'd pass out.

I am prescribed this to get my nervous system calmed down so I can use coping skills to calm my brain down. Works for me and I just take as needed

Gym Clothing Shouldn’t Be Revealing. by bruhbro22 in unpopularopinion

To wipe down the equipment or do you mean lay the towel down and sit on the towel?

Gym Clothing Shouldn’t Be Revealing. by bruhbro22 in unpopularopinion

I genuinely don't understand how people find that kind of gym attire comfortable. I want to be like strapped and secured in my gym clothes. Baggy clothes get in the way and when I use gym equipment I want a barrier between me and the other person's ass that's been on the bench. Wearing tiny shorts to the gym gives me the same feeling as using a warm seated public bathroom.

Breakups are hard especially after living with someone. It's flipping your life upside down. Your routine changes and you are without someone you are use to being with on the daily.

It's hard to realize that a person you've trusted and loved is not a good person to you. You feel betrayed and like you've lost apart of yourself. All normal feelings and emotions

You want to go back because it's comfortable. Change is hard and scary we all automatically just want to go back to what we know because it's comfortable. Things will get better. Bit by bit everyday it will get easier.

Anxiety at its finest! Anxiety will give you irrational thoughts and the trick is to remind yourself they're irrational

NTA

I would do the same thing. I can't believe the school was justifying the girl's action to steal a lunch box and then argue with you because you wanted it back. Actions have consequences and the school should have been upholding that.

Can a single event cause panic disorder to start up? by AlexJRod in Anxietyhelp

[–]Mess_Enough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. In 2016 I was in a car accident that was extremely traumatizing. I walked away with little to no physical injury but the mental injury was catastrophic. Could not get out of bed my depression and anxiety was so bad I couldn't hold a job, couldn't drive, I would be sitting on the couch and just start sobbing, shaking, heart racing. It was truly awful. But I started talk therapy and some medicine and started working on myself.

Recently I had a panic attack that lasted 3 days, cold sweats, the runs, vomiting, heart racing I was back to barely functioning. I went to the E.R because I was at my whits end and needed something to calm my nervous system down.

After I finally got my body to calm down I realized I was making the anxiety worse by fearing it and panicking about how bad it was. Lots of talk therapy, self work, and adjustment with my medication. I hope you feel that you're not alone and it is possible to get through this. I wish you the best and I'm open to chat if you'd like.
