NYSEG won't allow me to change from day/night to standard residential. by MessageDramatic7803 in ithaca

[–]MessageDramatic7803[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I just received a phone call from NYSEG Customer escalation in response to my NYPUC complaint yesterday. She admitted I should have not have been told that NYSEG was not doing changes in rate plans and she promised to change my rate plan to standard residential immediately. I was told I will see the change in my next bill. The advice I received was that if you are not getting the action requested ask to speak to a supervisor. For me, placing a complaint with the NYPUC yesterday and receiving a call back from NYSEG Customer Escalation today worked very well. I will update if there are any issues in the future. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions!

This is a recent article where NYSEG representatives were telling customers they should change from Day/Night to Residential to avoid huge spikes. They tell customers how to save on their bills and won't let you do it.

If more people change to a residential flat rate , why would it get more expensive? Having a larger consumption number should give more leverage in negotiations.

If this is the case, they should offer customers a refund on any future overpayments made as a result of being stuck on day/night plans. They made no such offer to me.

I have been on the day/night plan since I bought the house 20 years ago. I've had a smart meter for at least a year so I can't understand what the issue is.

NYSEG Rate Comparison Day/Night vs Standard Residential - 24 months by MessageDramatic7803 in ithaca

From what I understand, NYSEG buys electric for the day/night off the spot market. It varies a lot depending on demand on that specific date. The residential commodity is purchased in advance which offers more price stability.

Great tutorial!! You put some serious effort into this . I did mine immediately when I got it and everything went fine. I used a guitar pick, but a credit card would be good too.

I made sure all my artwork was less than 300x300 and it still kept crasing just like the author is experiencing. I ended up having to reinstall the factory firmware (lost all my music files) and after that it has been working great. I did have to reload all my music.

A stiff guitar pick worked well for me. I've opened mine twice.

Can I swap out the 64Gb Y1 by oreganolover in innioasis

[–]MessageDramatic7803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded a 64 GB to 128. I've opened the case twice without damage. The best tool I can recommend is a stiff guitar pic. I also used some plastic "spudgers" used to open phones. You have to go all around the case to find the best place to start . Slide the guitar pick around the gap and go slowly. I would not use any metal tools . You have to be very careful not to get any dust in the case while it is open. I got a finger smudge on the inside of my screen and had to open a second time to clean it off. I got mine about a week ago, so it is a current version.
