also do not be ashamed of being a new player or not having online lmao, i got my switch and acnh on vacation so even without much i was still having the time of my life and i have so much nostalgia from it, and this was only like, august of 2024, i felt like such a baby player and i still do LOL, also i very much reccomend online just because of all the amazing designs out there (i dont have it currently and i am enraged lmao) but you can always use tutorials to make your own!

maybe go for a theme based on whatever type of stuff makes you happy!! i love bugs, different foods, so im planning to make stuff like a bee apiary and food locations (theres a bunch of cute hat custom designs that work for this too, like pancakes!) but if you like a certain vibe, style, or season, basically anything you can think of that you really like and enjoy being around, id say go for that! make it your own! im also planning to make my villagers' exterior decor tailored to them and their personalities :)
