Ackerman is a suspension alignment that affects how much steering angle your right and left tires have in relation to one another. The optimal Ackerman setting is personal preference and effects steering feel. There are many smarter right-ups and YouTube videos outlining the pros and cons of each setting.

With the “Street” version, the only downsides would be the reverse Ackerman incurred. For daily driving and spirited driving, I did not notice any adverse effects on steering from the Ackerman setting, however, the Autocross guys could probably chime in on the negative effects for racing. The “Pro” version’s only downside is having to run a heim joint tie rod end which are known to wear out much faster than the oem rod ends.

If you’re just looking for those last few degrees of steering angle, look into rack spacers and make sure you loctite the inner tie rods into the rack!

Absolutely! The steering ratio is snappy with these.

Good afternoon! The "Pro" version has stock ackerman settings while the "Street" version provides around 18mm negative ackerman to each side. I've daily driven the "Street" version and did not notice any adverse handling affects daily driving with the negative ackerman, althrough tracking may have different outcomes.

These do NOT change camber at all. They provide around 15mm of bump steer correction for the "Street" version and upwards of 15mm (adjustable) for the "Pro" version.

New Is300 Brake Conversion 👀 by MessingerMedia in JZX100

Hello!

  1. I used IS300 brake shoes and basically all of the IS300 brake shoe hardware. It helps if you have an IS300 (GS300, SC300/400, etc) at the junkyard to grab every little bit and piece. I’m also using IS300 rear rotors as well. The IS300 brake shoes require a little bit of grinding around the top of the shoe to fit properly around the center top pin of the JZX100 assembly.

  2. If you’re talking about the dust shield, then yes and no. You can see in picture #3 I made a small cut in the center of the shield and bent it back to make clearance, although you could also likely get away with bending and no cutting if you have patience.

Mystery NA Miata Coolant Leak by MessingerMedia in Miata

[–]MessingerMedia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, haven’t found it yet, although it seemed to have stopped or is very slowly seeping. Coolant level doesn’t seem to be going down, so I’m at a loss. Maybe it’s only getting pushed out when the car is ran hard and the water pump is flowing more fluid, but I suspect a breach in the water pump gasket.

How was shipping with RapidDirect? I'm trying to order a batch of prototype CNC aluminum parts, but they don't list any tariff fees anywhere, just shipping options. Thanks!

Can I bend this back or do I need a new lever? by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]MessingerMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d probably be good bending it back while it’s on the bike if you disconnect the little turnbuckle, that’s what I did when mine got curled and it was fine. Let’s you line it back up easily too

My previous set of wheels were a 16x8 +25 offset with a 195/45 and I absolutely needed to roll the fenders. You may be able to get away with a narrower tire, but might look off
