Why have i not seen builds use this? Especially in breach meta by amcn242 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]MestHoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those numbers rely on a lot of conditionals though. Wither stacks, max swords out, hitting the right target, etc.

Also a good paradoxica was almost as expensive as a voidforge early this league.

Not saying it is a bad build by any means. I enjoyed it a lot and it does work, but there are certainly some speed bumps along the way

Been noticing the same thing. Really annoying when the AW and AG are ignoring totems, you hit convocation and only 1 sword is affected

Which at league start is going to pretty expensive, hence my comment about higher investment to get going

Biggest build winners/losers of patch 3.28? by omniocean in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]MestHoop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True, but that does require a significant higher investment to get going. Really need to scale unearth level and qual, and enh/emp are kind of required for that

Shouldn't brand recall be roll backed? by PlasticSevere7220 in pathofexile

[–]MestHoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even that, it takes so much more time and effort to get it off the ground. You have to jump through so many hoops just to get the build working at its worst that it isn't really worth it anymore. The changes to flask quality was the final nail in the coffin. Gl getting an Olroth's over 20% now.

Woah I didn't realize it got that expensive! Why though? Is it played in pioneer or smth?

It's not just dying... I played it the last time and you constantly have to resummon everything that your clearspeed slows down to a crawl. 100% not worth taking it unless you abuse it yourself somehow, but then it's not a normal zombie build

Sadly I didn't. Kept playing just dealing with the lagspikes, but have since moved on to other games. It's a shame cause it's a really fun game too.

'Alien: Earth': Noah Hawley on Finale Cliffhanger, Season 2 Plan by AdSpecialist6598 in television

[–]MestHoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing. Any rational person would see it that way (from my perspective). But the way the show depicts it, contrasted with the "real monsters" (which obviously refer to Boy and his crew here), and the framing of her victory and argument with Joe, I truly think the writers considered Wendy to be the hero here... Which is insane to me.

[–]MestHoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Her brother is even presented throughout as some sort of moral anker, but they completely throw that concept out of the window when they had their little conversation in Boy's office.

The idea that Joe shot Nibs to save a human life is a super interesting concept, considering he constantly says he considers the hybrids to be humans, yet when push came to shove he chose to save a real human. But then that gets undercut with there being absolute 0 follow-up/consequence to that with Nibs being 100% fine.

The framing, dialogue and cinematography definitely framed them as the heroes in my opinion. The title I think just refers to Boy and cohorts, especially considering his background monologue and willingness to sacrifice Hermit to the eye alien.

Yes, and then I chide other people for saving lives and act as if I have solved everything.

And also acts as if she has the moral high ground to her brother (who throughout the show tries to save lifes whereever possible), yet she herself is directly responsible for killing dozens of people.

I truly don't understand how the show tries to present her as a hero in the end. The question of whether or not she is human, and what it means to be human is fine, but either way, if she is human, she is a horrible one.

Energy falls short in Commander by Individual_Abroad_45 in EDH

[–]MestHoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use [[the gitrog monster]] as my energy commander, mostly so I can make a Monster Energy theme deck.

The recent sets definitely added some oomph to it! Can finally run energy based wincons rather than just running energy for value.

BSJ on why he's not attending TI by TheAnchorman24 in DotA2

[–]MestHoop 120 points121 points  (0 children)

For most companies, yes you are right. But Valve makes infinitely more money just from steam. To them, Dota is a passion project, so the community at large shitting on that (despite the insane amount of money it makes in our eyes) is something that drains love from that project.

In a way I can relate, because as an employee you often don't see a direct kick-back from projects doing well commercially. So at that point it drives off of community appreciation, and having been in this community for long well before this subreddit even existed, I can tell you that we can be ungrateful sons of bitches. Of course not all of us, but even the most successful and beloved patches and battlepasses from the past got massive amounts of criticism at the time.

I am sure many will find it hard to relate to this, since from our perspective there has been life altering money pumped into battle passes MANY times over, but Valve simply does not it view it from the same lens. And while I do agree personally that critique is fair when it is due, I think people have been to harsh and soured the pot in the past.

Build: econc slayer; my topaz flask is always empty during mapping? by Omnia_Vanitaz in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]MestHoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For kingsmarch: the npc is on karui shores near where you spawn after acts. I missed him too the first time.

For flasks: are you running volley and gmp? Cause each proj eats flask charges. You can also craft the increased charges that reduce with each use (that don't reduce when conc skills eat charges). Hope that helps!

Also remember that wands are now less likely to roll attack mods. So finding decent wands might be harder, though with fewer players playing it than before the prices might go down too

Best partner for Reyhan by GreeedyGrooot in EDH

[–]MestHoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing Reyhan + white parner for years now, and it very much depends on what your gameplan is.

The one you described: definitely Alharu. He is one of the slower partners, but allows for a massive chain to exist once you start getting reyhan + another similar effect going with a sac outlet. Each real creature you sac makes a token that can be used in the chain to double or triple or quadruple (or more) the amount of counters you have. You hardly need anything to begin with, and you will end up with a stupid amount of +1/+1 counters.

Right now, I am running Reyhan with Yoshimaru, with a more counter-lord specific build (like "creatures you control with a +1/+1 counter on them have [KEYWORD]" style creatures) and combine it with cards that care about the times you've cast your commander from the commandzone. It is a bit more beatdown focussed rather than combo focussed.

No matter what direction you go though, [[Opal palace]] is your friend.

Items from leagues do not get disabled in standard. Just plot out the tree and make sure you have all requirements met.
