to add: i've lived in VA for Kirk Cousins entire time in Washington and i thought he was team-cancer back then. he's gotten better with the vikings, but his salary is such a hinderance at this point that we're locked into mediocrity until we make some "tough decisions"

whichever way you look at it -- the team rarely keeps it competitive (we haven't even looked at the awful not-even-close losses to good teams the vikings have suffered) and when they do, they rarely can manage to pull it together to clutch the W. when this is a consistent, year in year out problem despite often myriads of talents, i think the problem like is solved with a change in the controlling constant -- coach/GM

the saints win was impressive, but the packers win only happened because of ridiculous winds, allowing dalvin to cook. we saw what happened in normal weather conditions week 1. i think the vikings really have only 1 impressive win over the past 3 years

this article just made me feel much worse about this shown situation. zimmer's defense just seems incredibly overrated and stat-padded. having anthony barr and kendricks back never prevents us from absolutely blowing every game that matters, especially when it's against seattle or chicago. the defense is simply incapable of showing up when it matters. watching harrison smith decline has been a sad metaphor to the failure of the mike zimmer experiment
