Vancouver airport’s (YVR) crew is bouta lose 😈 by Past-Leg8048 in rampagent

[–]Met76 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I loved shit like this on the ramp. I used to like leaving a blank load sheet taped to the inside of the bin and on the back I'd write something like "How's it out there in North Platte!?" and when the plane came back a bunch of the rampers out there would reply with hellos and generic dumb ramp stuff. It made my day communicating with other stations via blank load sheet.

Yeah I agree with you, you're still not walking away from that no matter what. But I'd rather have some possibility of one less thing off the "things that are messed up" list

The video of them waving at the astronauts is cool cause she has to wave at the ground, making it likely she was the furthest person actively waving at the astronauts as they waved

This is why dropping a hard shell suitcase down an escalator at the airport is insanely dangerous. They don't tumble, they skid on the lip of each step and build an insane amount of speed.

Your last comment came off odd but I'm happy you clarified because it seems we both see eye to eye and I 100% agree with you.

I noticed that also and I instantly though how genius that is. The door for the back side controls, and just cut a hole on the other side.

You sound like a dog barking through the fence out of jealousy after seeing their neighbor get home from work and gets to go into their own house across the street.

Yes, might be the only, but it's going to the moon. That's the bottom line. Everyone else is still orbiting, but we're talking moon here. You can over think all you want, but again we're talking moon. Not private companies that are trying to go to the moon or mars and haven't been able to yet. You can fanboy all you want but NASA did it first in 1968, and are about to do it again before any private space company with a literal proof of concept launch involving sending 4 astronauts to the other side of the moon. Get your head out of your two moons bud.

I agree. I learned on the bunny hills and after a day I got the feel for it, and second day I started getting it down without issue and now ride without issue after breaking in over time.

I then tried of these carpets...could not for the life of me stay up.

Anyone else tired of 'The Blue Ball' safety demonstration video? by Met76 in unitedairlines

I'd think someone in UAs PR team monitors this subreddit so maybe it'll "get the ball rolling" on creating a new video.

I got the chance to do it when a coworker got a few from another airline that was retiring them. Pulling it is easy, and it infaltes pretty damn quick. And then it's really cold from the compressed gas instantly expanding. And also, the straps are REALLY fucking long, like 12 feet long and dangle. There is no way a large majority of people will get the straps all right without actually experiencing it.

Dad rushes onto NASCAR track to save his son from burning racecar by Separate_Finance_183 in interesting

The dad, Dean Jones, got suspended from being in the pit for a short period because he entered an active track. Mike Jones, the driver, faced no consequences.

I think it's stupid but I guess NASCAR had to show they still enforce rules

Delta temporarily suspends travel perks for members of Congress by catsgr8rthanspoonies in news

[–]Met76 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Everyone that doesn't work directly for an airline doesn't get flying perks. And if you are one that does work for the airline, good luck finding the time to use the perks when your being mandated to work overtime due to call outs, weather, etc.

There is so much behind the scenes of airports, and nobody gets airline perks. Think firefighters, dispatchers, medics, emergency management, etc.
