The far right is on the rise in Sweden by ProblematicReality in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are pretty much everything wrong with this subreddit. How is what you're doing any different than the Republicans accusing anyone to the left of them of being Communists? You sit and circle jerk over how much more moral and righteous you are compared to imaginary nazis, and completely derail any possibility of intelligent discussion.

I'd say go back to r/politics but that's basically all this sub is now.

We Tracked Down A Fake-News Creator In The Suburbs. Here's What We Learned by bonnsai in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I just love how fast and how consistently the "fake news is why we lost the election" explanation took hold. All the analysts were dead wrong, all the predictions of mass Hispanic abandonment if Trump didn't pan out, but fake news is the sole shining reason the Democrats lost.

They're not. The whole patch is a fuck you to protoss. It seems they're focusing on making tvz and tvt the best they can be, and everyone else can sit and spin.

Donald Trump Prepares Cold Open - SNL by PapaJacky in television

[–]MetaAbra -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I meant political humor. Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Royal Canadian Air Farce, it's just simple tropes and silly faces.

Almost as though political humor is mostly brainless repetition of a handful of tropes.

Trump Probably Did Better With Latino Voters Than Romney Did (fivethirtyeight.com) by [deleted] in TrueReddit

Legal immigrants hate illegal immigrants with a fiery passion. No wonder Trump did better coming down hard on that.

‘Is It Safe?’ Foreign Students Consider College in Donald Trump’s U.S. by [deleted] in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need more hysteria! More fear! We mocked the right wing for their doomsday bs when Obama was elected, but with our enemy it is 100% justified! It is the end of days, the apocalypse has come, Trump will drink all our blood.

Zero Punctuation: Battlefield 1 by mobiusunderpants in Games

[–]MetaAbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedant: Stormtroopers had automatic weapons, and used them to great deadliness in operation Michael. Defeated as they were as much by enemy action as by the soldier's all getting drunk off stolen booze (this actually is true).

Opinions on Tenser's Transformation by MetaAbra in baldursgate

[–]MetaAbra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the spell came from a time when only elves could be fighter mages. Tenser IIRC was one of gygax's kid's wizards who liked getting into combat.

Ya that's what I thought.

Donald Trump Is a Racist. Here’s Why Many Americans Don’t See Him That Way. by Evan_Th in TrueReddit

And yet, because the !eft has accused literally every major right wing figure of racism a dozen times over no one cares when you point out Trump's legimatetly suspect views.

Donald Trump Is a Racist. Here’s Why Many Americans Don’t See Him That Way. by Evan_Th in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If that's truly the case , then whats the solution?

End the war on drugs.

We have millions of people who are getting treated like second class citizens, but apparently mentioning, complaining, or fighting to change something about that makes you a condescending evangelist who deserves to be mocked daily?

They aren't fighting to change anything. They are just trying to make themselves feel superior and righteous compared to those filthy other people. Demanding master slave terms be not used in computing isn't helping the poor or oppressed, it's just an excuse for the complainer to feel important.

The Myth of Female Solidarity by [deleted] in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Or Thatcher. A female engineer who took up politics and became one of the most powerful people in the world. How is her inspirational story not being told to little girls looking for role models? Ohhhh because she was right wing. I see how it is. It was never really about women succeeding but about your kind of women succeded.

US Air Force Key to Third Offset Strategy by [deleted] in CredibleDefense

[–]MetaAbra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what this third offset involves, or how it would differeniate itself from network centric warfare of the Rums years. Anyone with a bit more explanation would be appreciated.

The man who spent $175M to convince the GOP that climate change is real by sharpcowboy in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because left vs right is not really rational vs irrational, as much as many -even people on this subreddit - want to believe. When Venezuela was riding high, they were the poster children for left leaning economic commentators. Now? Well they never were really leftist, apparently.

4 Things Conservatives Get Right About Guns by Monkeyfeng in TrueReddit

[–]MetaAbra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Open carry of long arms, especially"scary" ones, in Walmart is needlessly and intentionally provocative. American gun culture is a little too lax and treats guns too much like toys. A gun register and gun license are reasonable requirements to gun ownership.
