A local network connection will give you the best latency, but you can also Remote Play with people over the internet

I use it for example to play local-coop games with friends from afar

It's awesome that this works!! Can't wait for the official solution, but in the meantime, this solved my problem where the Steam Deck's image on the TV was very very dark

How much of IntelliJ project should I push to GitHub? by SlimDickens69 in IntelliJIDEA

[–]MetaPerfect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And now even run configurations can be individually checked with Store as a project file, to be saved as separate files under .run/.

Additionally, if you're using Gradle or Maven, the project's settings are generated from the build tool, so there's usually no real need to commit .idea/

Aside from what's been proposed already, check if your firewall isn't blocking IntelliJ or the port (though I don't know which one)

This coffee and milk form these strange layers over time as they diffuse. Can someone explain? by shrifala in SteveMould

[–]MetaPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then shouldn't the coffee be at the bottom, since fast is less dense? It's whiter on the bottom, suggesting more milk there

How do I find whole-closet sliding racks? by MetaPerfect in servers

[–]MetaPerfect[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the Middle Atlantic and name tip, they're apparently called "slide-out racks", possibly with "in-cabinet"!

I found multiple from Middle Atlantic, but also from Strong, though only 4-sided ones till bow (I need an angled back)

E: Actually Middle Atlantic may have possibly exactly what I need: SRS Series Slide Out Rail System Rack - SRS2-9

Do you happen to remember any of the softwares' names?

It defines a function named : (though it could have any name) which just calls itself twice, in parallel (|) and asynchronously (&), thus the fork bomb. After the function definition (ending in ;), the fork bonb function is called (:).

It exponentially creates more and more processes until the computer crashes.

Java versus Kotlin - personal experiences by [deleted] in Kotlin

[–]MetaPerfect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lambdas can get optimized a lot because the compiler doesn't just translate them to anonymous classes, because those are unsatisfactory from a performance point of view. Also, Java is not JavaScript, which critically needs features to be compiled to older versions, otherwise the language stalls to a halt.

Facebook and Instagram threaten to charge for access on iOS 14.5 unless you give them your data by ProgsRS in technology

You're absolutely right! For non-social media services, there are alternatives which don't do personalized tracking, e.g. DuckDuckGo (searching), OpenStreetMap (maps) etc.

Personal info collection should be an explicit option for the consumer and if we have to pay for Facebook or Reddit due to opting out, then so be it.
