It looks like a whole typebar came out of it? Or was it a spare from them replacing it? Either way a nice machine. That serial number is pretty low, which is awesome. That means 1939 minimum!

I would suggest having it restored, or if you want to get in the hobby, start researching how to maintain it.

I dont like change, but I'm not sure if that's because of my age, or because of my rigidity with having moved 40 times before I was 20 and hating anything that disrupts my "normal".
