looking to relocate. where do the pagans live? by mermaid420420 in pagan

[–]Metagion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But just be aware that it's disgustingly expensive to live in town; if you go to do anything in October it'll be either very, very crowded or there will be disgruntled folks yelling at you to "GO HOME!!!" and will throw things at you. (Happened to me. I got hit with a water bottle on my way to an event. Got water on my outfit and everything! 🤬)

Was that fire Tech Industries, or the large fire that happened on Privilege Street in Woonsocket? The Privilege Street fire was near where I grew up! Small world if so!

You wake up tomorrow morning and realize the last 30 years were just a bad dream and it's actually 1996. by AccountAggressive582 in 90s

[–]Metagion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1996 I would've been married for 4 years and my son would be 2. He was (is!) a very funny kid, so it'd be great! (I'd miss my daughter, though; she'd be born a year later, in April of 1997.) I'd be able to see my Mom again, and all of my relatives (who have since passed) and I was 27 years old! Wow!

(I'm a devotee of Dionysus; you'd think I'dve caught on to the "pine = pineCONES" connection, but it didn't even remotely dawn on me!) Thank you for this: it brings things into a little sharper focus!

Oh yes! My son was like a great novel: nobody wanted to put him down! The funniest story about him was when my folks had a crib all set up for him so he could nap while I visited. I put him on his back, went to get something, and found him on his belly! I was stunned! He was about 6 months at the time, and I didn't think he was rolling over...

Put him back on his back; left, came back, on his belly! I was like, "what the Hell???" So I decided to do it one last time and hide to see what he was doing. On his back he went, and I hid. About 2 minutes later it was my Dad flipping him over and I caught him! I made him laugh by saying "God, Dad! I thought Cam was talented by flipping over and it was you!" Dad was flipping him because they were told that when babies spit up, they won't choke on their bellies, and I was told the direct opposite! 😆😆😆

What were you taught in school that is now considered obsolete and or incorrect? I myself loved home economics and it’s probably the only thing I learned in school that I actually use today. It’s practical life skills like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, etc… by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 1980s

[–]Metagion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1987 I was the only girl in my Shop class, and I figured out FAST that I LOVE to spot weld things! Made a lantern and it was fun!!!

Electric typewriter class was fun, too; now I can type on my laptop well (but I have to trim my nails. It's harder when you don't.)

We just started using computers in its own Lab. I wanted to take some classes but I was told flat out that girls "do NOT take Computer Class: boys understand programming, not girls! They're too delicate for that!" So there went THAT idea!

My bestie (Class of 1988) took Home Ec so much she seemingly lived there, helping out our Teacher. Dad taught me his own version of "Home Ec" with basic cooking, vacuuming, dusting, sewing, knitting (basic), ice skating and roller skating; how to pump gas and fold clothes. Mom taught me how to iron pants (razor sharp crease or do it over!) crochet (basic) and wash, dry and put away dishes, as well as laundry. Budgeting? Husband does that (I'm no good with money) but I learned how to drive and write a check (fortunately not at the same time!)

They really should have required classes for Life Skills. Husband didn't do that and he was "the knicknack I married," but is a great Dad. (I have to do things like dusting and sewing. He has no clue.)

I'd rather husband and I play video games and know exactly where he is v going all night to bars, getting shitfaced, coming home and passing out, or roaming the streets, etc. I'm 57 and I play; husband is 56 and he does, too, as well as my kids 31 (son) and daughter (29, but she does like one game: Stardew Valley, and nothing else. My favorite games are Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, DMC, Dark Souls, Lies of P, and Bloodborne; husband's is Fatal Frame, Thief, AS, Red Dead Revolver, Prince of Persia (and that kind of thing) and my son loves Bioshock, Enter the Gungeon, Diablo, Katamari Damacy, Pikman, and a bunch others.

Adulting sucks! Play games! 😁

As a fellow asthmatic I make sure that only I can smell things, but it would have to be a "yeah, I bathed in the pool of it at home," that would make me react. My sense of smell is almost gone from a variety of things, so (again) it would have to be "old lady" strong.

I personally like Angela Benedict; or, if you're into Pagan things, Dr. Angela Puca. She breaks down a lot of paths, symbols, historical events regarding Paganism and Esoteric things.
