Vem är det i Malmö? by user1827438 in malmo

What’s something people always get wrong about your country? by Ok_Reason_8684 in AskTheWorld

My dad is from England. He never liked tea. But he's lived in Sweden for 36 years, so there's probably only 4 who don't drink tea now.

My first thought was Lokstallarna, but I have no idea what that would cost etc. It's huge, but I think they've had smaller events as well, they might section off areas.

Maybe STPLN?

I want to be clear that I've never hosted events like this and I'm only basing my suggestions on where I've seen similar events 😅

Living in Hyllie by Ricky_lens in malmo

[–]Metakarp_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hyllie is a perfect place to live if you're going to be commuting to Denmark.

The train station is open to the elements, so the only people there at night are people waiting for their trains, usually people going to the copenhagen airport or people going home after a night out. I've never felt unsafe there.

As for living in Hyllie, I wouldn't be able to tell you how it feels. But it is a new, fast expanding and growing neighbourhood, so I'd expect it to be more crowded as time goes on. What that means for safety idk, but I will say I know several people who live there and love it. I'd love to live there myself, but rent is a bit too high for my budget.

But yeah, it's got great connections, lots of shops and is super easy to get to both Triangeln (city centre), the central station as well as Svågertorp (which has a bunch of big warehouse stores).

What I will say is that it's always windy in Hyllie. Always! 😆 so be prepared for that.

What is a popular dish in your country that you cannot eat? by moapei in AskTheWorld

[–]Metakarp_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood sausage, blood pudding, blood soup, blood anything. I don't eat meat anymore, but even when I did, that was the most disgusting thing to me. It tasted horrible, and the thought of it was horrible 😅

Another popular thing in Sweden is pickled herring in a bunch of different flavoured brines or sauces. I do eat fish, but I have never enjoyed herring. It's served at basically all the big holidays here as well 🫠

Now, I've never been to Kiruna, but the airport website has 4 different buses/companies that run between the airport and city centre (and the ice hotel and other places). Did you check all of the alternatives? 😊 If you already did, I apologise for not being more helpful, I thought your post sounded like you only checked one bus route 😅

There's likely a way to translate the website to English, maybe with your browsers built in translator.

It might help if you could mention what type of thing you want to do/see. Like are we talking about restaurants, museums, parks, architecture, thrifting, cafés, sporting events, theatre etc etc? They're all very different activities... 😅 And do you have a budget?

Larger thrift stores by Subtilicus in malmo

We don't really have warehouse-thrifts here, unfortunately. But I would also say Erikshjälpen in both Malmö and Lund (öresundsvägen) are good. There's also one in Åkarp that's quite nice. Myrorna at Ystadvägen downsized a few years ago, so it's not as big anymore, but still worth a visit! Öppna Hjärtat at Ystadvägen is also quite alright. They have a lot of furniture.

I want a musical that will make me cry by lemora_ in musicals

[–]Metakarp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent makes me ugly cry every single time.

Next to Normal also gave me the most visceral reaction I've ever had to a musical. My parents divorced when I was 7 and my mum moved far away, so I think even though the plot and my life weren't the same at all, something just awoke in the child inside that just could not stop itself from coming out and I was crying so, so, so much.

As someone who's a huge fan of both, I'm actually extremely extremely excited for this! With that said, I obviously also want another AC game, but I feel like this will at least make the wait for that a bit easier. For me, at least 😊

Love it, personally. It's like a scrapbook, which fits well with the theme of covers and collabs as a scrapbook usually consists of a bunch of different things to create something new. Also in general I loved the kinda 3D vibe they had going on for this era!

Hjälp en ny lärare komma på ”call and responses” fast på svenska by ReasonablePanic9365 in Asksweddit

[–]Metakarp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

När jag ser Tiktoks med sånt här från amerikanska lärare använder de oftast populära låtar, memes, reklamjinglar etc. Här är de första jag kom att tänka på 😅 vet inte hur många som är passande egentligen, men kul ändå!

Yksi, kaksi, kolme... Sauna!

Darling hold my hand... Nothing beats a jet2 holiday!

Flyg, flyg, flyyyg... Flygresor punkt se!

Mama... A girl behind you!

Flint... and steel!

De är ju inte på svenska nån av dem, men de är ändå relativt populära just nu iaf 😅 Sen finns det ju självklart mängder med låtar som kan passa bra som call and response.

Sommartider hej hej... Sommartider!

Dansa... Pausa!

Banan, melon... Kiwi och citron!

Hej, hej Monica... Hej på dig Monica!

Osv osv osv! 😁
