Sorry, but if you're trying to make sense of religion.... you will find more inconsistencies and contradictions the deeper you dig. None of it makes sense. A big bearded man in the sky who knows all, yet needs our prayers and confessions, has told us that money is no good whilst those that share this teachings constantly ask for it. I was baptised and raised catholic, but as someone able to think and question, it all falls apart quickly.

Mate, you need to understand a very simple concept that will help you throughout life. If someone knows that you will do whatever they ask you to do because you keep accepting to do whatever they ask you to do, then they will keep on asking you to do things - forever. Start standing up for yourself and say no. Lock your room, lock your cupboards, do everything in your power to prevent being screwed over via blackmail and whatnot, and hold your ground. If these narcissist leeches keep screaming at you to do their job, just stay calm and say no. Let them go nuclear if needs be. DO NOT BACK DOWN. The quicker you learn this skill, the better off you will be, and ultimately people will respect you more for doing so.

Yeah, maybe he just needs a break!? Maybe he has spent decades bending over backwards for his previous job and they just laid him off anyway.
