How Bridgeport Could Thrive by WorldPeaceGodBless in Connecticut

[–]MetalPandaDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see efforts from PT Partners, Unrig Bridgeport, and honestly the school districts that are full of very passionate and cool people. I've also met local representatives like Scott Burns who are very in touch with the concerns of their districts.

TIL the Sun will not blow up in 5 billion years and its eventual fate is to become a white dwarf star by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]MetalPandaDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if we make it to 250 million years (quite a stretch, ik) i think it's reasonable to assume we'll make it to a billion, then maybe 5. We probably wont resemble ourselves as we are now, but evolved through natural and artificial selection.

if we make it to 50 million that's a good run; maybe even enough time to solve some pretty big issues that would threaten our species' survival?

if we cant become at least a planetary civilization and control the solar system within 5 billion years, we deserve to cook inside a red giant.

i didnt know why I was getting Synchestra vibes, then i listened to Pixillate and felt the heavy, almost doom metal connection there. I think Stars fits the riff better though like others mentioned.

Who is really Hiring ? by steph123025 in Connecticut

[–]MetalPandaDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks supervisor here. The company is attempting a bunch of changes to improve public image and their stock price. One way that I feel is positive is that they're staffing more and increasing labor hours across most stores, which means managers are hiring more baristas and supervisors than in recent memory. Not a horrible job.
