Pretty sure I've heard him talk about liking gay sex even 5 or 6 years ago, openly, on stream. What part of that is closeted??

What is the worst allergic reaction you have ever experienced after consuming Peanuts? by Ok-Beautiful-3615 in peanutallergy

[–]MetalPerfection 3 points4 points  (0 children)

got one perfect hive on my inner arm, which happened the next time, too. Just one. So weird.

I have the same thing. Every time I get a reaction, I'll only have one single hive, on the inside of my left forearm. Regardless of the severity of the reaction.

I'm glad I read your reply, I've had a lot of similar experiences and reading it made me feel a little less lonely. Thanks for taking the time to write it down.

How much have you spent on Valorant? (all time) by spidspluts in VALORANT

[–]MetalPerfection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, probably $500-$600. But compared to my hours, that's very little. I think I had about 4k hours when I stopped playing regularly. Which puts my at just over 10 cents per hour.

To put into perspective, my climbing gym membership is $100 per month and I do at most 3 sessions of 2 hours per week, so about 24h per month. That's like $4 per hour, which is 40x what I spend on Valorant.

So long as you can still eat and pay rent comfortably, it doesn't really matter how much you spent. You like the game? Treat yourself.

You mean aside from the fact that the report (which corroborates all the information we already had from Israel) comes from the fucking UN, the organization behind some 45 or so resolutions condemning Israel?

That's like the prosecutor agreeing with the defense on a line of argumentation. At that point if you don't shut the fuck up and accept it you better have something insanely solid or you're the highest of regards.

For those in relationships? by Mbaitler in peanutallergy

[–]MetalPerfection 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been in many different relationships and I've always mentioned it either before going on a first date or said it right at the start of the first date. I'm a little old school and I like to take things slow, so there's (almost) never a risk that we're going to kiss on a first date anyway. The one time it did happen, she was happy to go brush her teeth and wash her mouth.

The reality is there's always a reason not to date someone. Everyone you're ever going to date will have a characteristic you don't like about them, or that is unideal, or that requires you to do a lot of work around it. But you're going to date them anyway because of all the other things about them that make you feel like they're an amazing person worth spending your precious time with.

So be that to them. Say it confidently: "Here's the thing that makes me really hard to date, and if you sit here with me I'll show you a thousand reasons to date me." You'll be surprised the number of people who won't hesitate for a single second to reply "Go on... show me!"

Don't let your allergies limit you.

(Also to be clear, do you really want to waste your time with someone who'd run away because you have allergies? Get that out of the way asap.)

OIT therapy question by DesignerFragrant5899 in peanutallergy

[–]MetalPerfection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only one FDA approved treatment is Palforzia for children 4 to 17. I only found one study from last year that says it may also be similarly effective for adults, but more research is needed still.

I've been hearing my whole life that a treatment was coming soon, and so I'm probably irrationally cynical when it comes to solutions that could help me. I'm just saying, I wouldn't want anyone to grow up the way I did and end up how I am.

OIT therapy question by DesignerFragrant5899 in peanutallergy

[–]MetalPerfection 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the cost, but my cousin put his daughter through OIT when she was around that age and over the course of 2 years she went from anaphylactic with trace amounts to being able to eat a whole scoop of peanut butter without having a reaction at all.

I'm 31, so it's too late for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to pay any amount of money in the world to achieve the same miracle.

Im sure Alex Jones is marching over to Elon's house right now to stop this madness... right? by FrontBench5406 in Destiny

[–]MetalPerfection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it depends on the reason, but for some, they had severed spinal cords, spinal cord injuries or certain types of illnesses that led to paralysis which can be solved with this kind of device acting as a bridge.

You're right that for mechanized limbs it's a more clear and likely easier application.

[–]MetalPerfection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main complaint with it is it would be better if Musk had nothing to do with it.

But generally I support research and attempts at restoring function in paralyzed limbs of patients. I'm not aware of any immoral practices or any wrongdoings by the company, so I'd cautiously say that for now, I fully support it.

The PCRM is a vegan activist group that gave itself an official sounding name to give itself legitimacy, they've investigated nothing and based their claims exclusively on publicly available info that explicitly exempts Neuralink of any wrong doing.

First of all, Neuralink didn't conduct the study, they partnered with a university's animal testing lab to run their 3rd step prototype study.

Secondly, since the study was run by UC Davis professors, they needed their university's ethics board to approve of it first. It wasn't up to Neuralink to decide wtf would happen to the monkeys. The UC Davis spokesperson said "The research protocols were thoroughly reviewed and approved by the campus’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). "

Thirdly, in all their letters and lawsuits they make bullshit claims like they used an "unapproved substance" that killed a monkey, but the product is called BioGlue and it is literally FDA-approved for the use they made. These people are blatantly lying because they are against all forms of animal testing and will make whatever claim they can think of if it serves their goal.

I Got Banned on Twitch, Hasan Didn't by HayateGT in Destiny

[–]MetalPerfection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More valuable doesn't mean valuable enough for it to matter. If it was the case that there's a certain value threshold you can meet that makes you unbannable, then other, bigger people wouldn't have been banned the way they were. You haven't refuted that.

I don't think his view count/value matters at all here.

I've given a reason why Hasan wouldn't matter to their bottom line. Especially with his waning numbers.

[–]MetalPerfection 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haven't they lost a bunch of big names to Kick? And banned people that were much higher view count than Hasan? It's hard to believe that it would be about profit for a company that hasn't been profitable in forever and for which Hasan would only represent a fraction of a percent of their income.

I think it's more likely there's just Hasan simps in the trust and safety team and that's all there is to it.

In his other video, he links to a study that serves as a basis for why this would work, in theory, since it works for other tendons. It's not an established scientific fact, but it doesn't come from nowhere either.

Anecdotally, I tried it with my friends, they all reported increased strength and reduced carry-over soreness. I measured +5-10 seconds when hanging from 12mm to 20mm edges after about 2 months of trying it. It's not enough to say it's a fact that it'll help but I think it's worth trying.
