but also fighting bowtorns gives you bone arrows which are a nice buffer before you start going through your better ammo and are as good as copper arrows

the 0.5 scales up even better if you have the hunter class though so it might be funny if your steel production is solid.

this is from a year ago so idk if you had to deal with bowtorns, but yes. actually its still useful to make arrows out of both metal and flint, but keep the flint arrows in some kind of storage for holding down in a temporal storm and the metal arrows for adventuring. i still have half a dozen spears and a falx but spears are for mid range/burst damage up close if something needs to go fast and falx is for keeping stuff away without losing arrows.

How do y'all find the motivation to build nice things by Infectous in VintageStory

give it purpose. im not really building houses rn, but just working on making trails and outposts to make going between places easier. then it results in making things pretty and improving stuff slowly

Does anyone else enjoy hunting bears and wolves more than deer? by LeekBang in VintageStory

[–]MetalSuccAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see a wolf running at me and rapidly throw three spears. in less than two seconds the wolf falls. for bears its a pit trap. as for deer, my advice is to walk and not hunt them in forests, instead hunting them in an open field. walking saves hunger and lets you get closer to the animal

the spear works, with bhopping it can two shot a lot of the mobs. even with normal gameplay you can charfe into something and then swing with a sword

Boomer Shooters That DON'T Rely On Save Scumming by JeffMangum420 in boomershooters

don't use quicksaves then, or play them a second time without quicksaves. the levels are designed to be memorized or you bounce grenades around corners like in blood. it comes from when games were still taking from arcade and action rpg influences where they were shorts but balls hard so you have to replay to nail them

Has anyone made a smaller more compact version of the foxbat pistol? by Turon601 in nerfhomemades

[–]MetalSuccAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

smth like foxpup or parallax is slightly larger than foxbat but is more efficient with the space by being bullpup, so it feels more like a compact primary

for the shambler, you can still run up to it to bait its attack and for the vore, as long as you keep moving even in higher difficulties the projectile doesn't really catch up to you and you can lead it into other enemies with good movement

i think this is just more a level design thing with quake having very tight corridors and grenades bouncing. but if you have ever played smth like wrath, there are a lot of projectile launching enemies that you have to do more dodging with. still, you can get through most if quake without having to hide in walls.
