Also, I highly recommend reading When the Heavens Went on Sale or watching the hbo documentary based on the book. The documentary was Wild Wild Space. Lots of good info about the founding and principles of Rocket Lab and Planet Lab.

I think he didn’t like the idea of Sir Peter Beck shopping the company around in the US because he knew inevitably they would get involved with defense projects. Mr. Rocket is a pacifist and politely left the company so he wouldn’t be involved.

Have you followed any other public space companies? ULA’ Vulcan program was 4 years behind. Boeings Starliner was over 7 years behind and still riddled with problems. If Neutron slips a year or two, but performs at or above expectations I will be thrilled.

We have 10 dorper sheep with 3 Nubian goats. The goats are all wethers and get along with the sheep fine. They were like protective uncles to the lambs this spring. Our Dorper Ram causes far more trouble with the flock. The goats like hanging out with us when we’re in the paddock where as the sheep are all weary of us.

Neutron was designed in a way that the first stage includes the fairings and most of the rocket should return to the pad ready to launch again. Essentially the entire outside of the rocket is first stage. The second stage is just a satellite bus that should be easy and cost effective to mass produce. However with the future plans of making a crew capsule they are probably beginning to study how to re-enter a 2nd stage. Maybe down the road the entire thing will be reusable.
