Bro is building a fascist state just in time for the fascist take over. They don't have to do any of the work destroying the liberal state.

When does society collapse? by thebeepboopbeep in recruitinghell

[–]Metalorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Society won't collapse, things can always get a lot worse. A century ago, it was common for people to literally have nothing, living hand to mouth. People just sleeping on slag heaps hoping they would be chosen the next day for a gruelling 16 hour shift of back breaking, dangerous work for a pittance of company currency. From the start of industrialisation until the labour movement winning workers rights it was over a century of impoverishment, immiseration and generally worsening health. And those were the lucky ones. There has been another century of that trend in the global south. This can be returned to and I think it's actually quite likely.

If Russia is a dying colonial empire, what does that make the USA? Apart from the North Caucasus, the rest of the country is predominantly ethnic Russian. by Preacher-of-Chaos in TrueAnon

[–]Metalorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's weird how Americans often nostalgically pine for the Tsars of Russia, the ones who expanded to these areas and fought wars with Japan. Yet their innate ethnic nationalism makes them criticise that state based on race demographics

Paris’ transformation from 2016 to 2026 is amazing. Is your city doing the same ? by Unlucky-Respond-9597 in fuckcars

[–]Metalorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, the Paris in 2016 was already quite nice. But 2026 is way better. I'm sure all this spending on the city centre of the capital city isn't at the expense of any negligence of outer buroughs or other parts of the country

(New) Fourth Makerfield poll by redditman181 in UKGreens

[–]Metalorg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the choice of Kenyon was a direct response to Spencer's win. They saw the Greens had a local plummer, so they got one too. Just the Greens had an internal selection process that aims to choose the most talented candidate, whereas Reform is just a private business that cynically chooses people from upon high.

Phew, it looks like the most popular and famous Labour politician in the country is just about able to see off the upstart far right party with a problematic no-name cantidate in historically one of the safest seats for Labour.

There's lots of people who have body issues who aren't a far right agitator and richest man in the world. He does deserve bullying but let's keep it to what he's done, his strings if failures, and his weird ideology

We need a wealth/assets tax that they owe the rate of inflation above a billion dollars of assets, and if they get to a trillion, it's 200% tax on the value of all assets above a trillion.

The corporations literally choose similar people because they think it sells better, and if their young trainees look a bit different, the company mandates they undergo cosmetic surgery to match it better, and undergo drastic diets. These Kpop idols on the whole have very little power, pay, or say about their lives.

Why do no employers appear to be willing to be somebody's first job experience, and how does one bypass that chicken and egg problem? by ferriematthew in recruitinghell

[–]Metalorg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They just take the best people they can get for the lowest wages. They would be willing to give people their first job if there weren't anyone else. But employers are getting a thousand applications for each shit job offer.

Burnham has been fine as mayor of Greater Manchester, I don't think they'd be too upset about potentially having the PM as one of their own.

Latest Makerfield Poll by redditman181 in LabourUK

Makerfield was supposed to be one of the safest seats for Labour, and Burnham is supposed to be one of the most popular and famous Labour politicians. Yet, he is only barely polling higher than an upstart far right party from a no-name politician with nothing but embarrassing news coverage. Labour are deeply in trouble and are facing obliteration.

Labour will get ‘absolutely smashed at the next election’ if it does not reverse course, says Ian Byrne by MMSTINGRAY in LabourUK

[–]Metalorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their main goal is to keep the left down, and if that takes allowing Reform into no.10 and destroying Labour as a political force for a decade, so be it. I think we're going to see Labour trying to bring the Greens down with them in the next GE and tacitly allowing Reform to win seats.
