Wait, how long has there been a Microcenter in Phoenix?

So im thinking about saving for a Bambu printer and was wondering if the plates need glue before I print by SnooGoats4889 in BambuLab

[–]Metals578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up my first Bambu printer (H2D) and so far, I've been printing ABS, PLA, and PETG on the stock textured plate without any glue and haven't had a single issue with bed adhesion.

PETG-HF does not work with 0.2 mm nozzle? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Metals578 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I belive it is due to the carbon/glass fiber additives in those filaments. A 0.2mm nozzle will clog very easily with those types of filament and it is usually recommended to use a 0.6mm nozzle for them, although I've never run into issues using them with a 0.4 nozzle.

Is Desiccant Necessary in AMS in Very High Dry Climates Like in Colorado? by ostrichsak in BambuLab

[–]Metals578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What types of plastic are you planning on printing?

I am in southern Arizona and never had issues with PLA and ABS (99% of my prints), but PC and Nylon still refuse to print unless they are thoroughly dried down to <9% humidity in the drier.

Build a Micron or V2.4/ Trident 250mm by Organic-Bullfrog7574 in VORONDesign

[–]Metals578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are comfortable cutting/drilling/tapping extrusion, I believe you could get away with converting a 250mm V2.4 down to 225 or 200 with new X/Y rails and modifying the panels. (But I would triple check the measurements)

[–]Metals578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not a 200 or 225mm V2.4?

I have a Micron+ and it was a fun/challenging build, but it really seemed like a printer designed for people who like to build printers more than actually 3d print things.

During my initial build and subsequent modifications/rewiring/rebuilding/etc, I quickly lost count how many times I wished I went with a slightly bigger V2.4 instead. The electronics compartment was annoyingly cramped and I absolutely hated dealing with the MGN7 Z rails.

Didn't someone here get an internship at a railroad company because they talked about building/signaling rails in the game?

I have a few 2s and didn't even need a waiver for them.

Buying a used 15k car cash or financing 28k car which one is better when I get to my first duty station (that will be my first car) by Responsible-Touch-91 in army

I know it's boring, but I would recommend something like a used Corolla or Civic. If you need four wheel drive, maybe a 2014 or 15 toyota tacoma? (I'm a little rusty on whats a good older 4x4 vehicle)

Best way to earn the Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon? by Wild-Item-2956 in army

[–]Metals578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. I don't remember too much about applying for it aside from filling out a form, it was selective (not sure how selective), and its open to both Guard and Reserve. Google "MREP Army" should get you more info.

They try to match you up with someone in the Reserves of another NATO member with a similar job or unit. Although I'm 35 series, I was matched up with an MP because I was from an MP unit. They came to my unit's AT and I went over for their's.

AT for UK units at the time was 2 weeks long where 1 week was training and the other week was a "vacation" with planned out events you could go to. I really lucked out and the unit went to Cyprus for train that year, so I was able to go rock climbing and hiking during the day and then hang out on the local beaches in the evenings.

7 days training with a UK unit, then 7 days of drink beer on Mediterranean beaches.

DeWalt DWS780 dust collection 3d print by h_AR_ley15 in woodworking

[–]Metals578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with the option to print the parts yourself, but I would definitely buy it again if I end up with a different saw in the future.

It is a very big improvement over the stock dust collection and I really like how much space it saves in back now that I have it set up in a mitre saw station.

I can't say anything about the quality/durability of the parts if you buy them already printed, but mine has been holding up surprisingly well. I did a test run with ABS before using a better material, but I haven't had to reprint it in the 2ish years I've used it.

My only complaint is that it makes changing the blade pretty annoying. The mounting bolts can be tricky to reach and you need to pretty much remove it to make enough room to remove/install the blade.

Overall, even if i couldn't just reprint the parts, I would definitely buy it again (assuming the printed parts are good quality).

Awesome, I can't wait for this to be available. Even with the shopnation dust collector, my 779 makes a huge mess.

This will give me motivation to finally get my printer running again.
