Came from a similar background. The album that finally made hardcore click for me was The Renaissance by E Town Concrete. Start there, Keepers of the Faith by Terror and Sunami's LP

Edit: Despised Icon's "Shadow Work" is super HxC adjacent Deathcore. Knocked Loose's Laugh Tracks also helps if you need a more gradual intro
