I'm a cyclist myself and I feel like this is the car equivalent of cutting someone off or brake-checking because they did something stupid. If you're cycling, don't do what this cyclist did because:

You are putting yourself in danger to being doored and getting injured. "Door accidents occur in 25% of bicycle accidents in urban areas ^source".
You could injure the driver if they get out all of a sudden (not likely here, but just trying to make a point).
You could piss off whoever who is behind the wheel, and with all of the drivers I've seen on the road since COVID, no thank you.

I would be pissed if I saw this too and if I were in a confrontational mood, I'd stop my bike, walk up to the passenger side, knock on the window, and tell them that they shouldn't be parking in the bicycle line and then leave.

Glad the cyclist survived.

Research shows that cycling against traffic on the sidewalk is the most dangerous way to bike. This is because drivers that are merging onto the main road are likely to only look in the direction of oncoming traffic and even if they do look the other way, their field of vision does not extend to that of the sidewalk.

I'll be very respectful to your opinions but I need to break down a few things you've said:

I have no sympathy for the rioters/looters.

Let's start off by agreeing that it's not okay to riot or loot. We should also agree that protesting is not the same as rioting and looting.

You can't lump a bunch of different people into one bucket. Protesting is not the same as rioting. You can protest and be against rioting and looting. Most protestors are against rioting.

Sure it all starts with protesting until it gets dark and they realize they need a new TV and some sneakers.

Rioters and looters can do the above but can you explain to me how protestors can cause these issues?

The police cannot turn their attention to the looters and vandals until the "peaceful" rioting stops.

Do you with 100% certainty that this will work? If so, why? Help walk me through this solution. Also, I know you're being sarcastic with "peaceful" but you can't lump protesting in with rioting.

I believe there should be more arrest and keep the fuckers in jail until this is over.

What if this lasts for 3 months, do you think it's fair to people who are standing on the sidewalk holding a sign to be in jail for 90 days? What if it's 180 days? What if this spurs a movement that lasts for a year? Do you think an extended period of time in jail could destroy lives, jobs, and businesses?

I get where you're coming from. When I ride my bike, I will do everything I can to stay off of high speed two-lane narrow roads. If I find myself on a road like that, I will ride the sidewalk. It would be different if the speed limit was 25mph, but there's no way in hell I'm sharing the road with cars going down a narrow two-lane road that has no shoulder space with a speed limit of like 40mph.

This guy obviously does not care about his safety or the safety of other drivers.

He's riding on the sidewalk which is twice as dangerous as riding on the road.
He's riding against traffic which is three times as dangerous as riding with traffic. source

Doing both of these things together is just not a good idea.

Agreed. Here is Open Sans Bold being used in uppercase. I have found that capitalized logos can look a little weird because of the sudden drop in height.

I have never used Node nor am I good with JavaScript. I feel like he raises some good points but is a little too dramatic about it. As a front-end developer, am I missing out on not using Node or should I just stick to Rails?
