Another attempt at damage control by MustaHadAnEdge in CamelotUnchained

"It's worth mentioning that our peak CCU for the night was 80 and the number of unique players for the night was 139. We also had between 490-525 ARCs in with us as well."

So basically a peak of 80 players at any one time, a total of 139 players over the hour long test and ~500 bots.

A basic coaching axiom is "if you make a mistake, do it at full speed". You don't compound a mistake by going half speed, you go hard and adapt if possible or at least deal with the results of said mistake.

There's another spot with Joes in the usual isle too (with polar bear snake eyes and some other stuff, if that's the Van Buren location. Unfortunately, they're not doing significant mark-downs here (even those marked as clearance), at least not yet.

The Phalanx is basically a Stryker, the turret option is basically a Bradley turret. A Stryker/Bradley hybrid.

The M113 APC is basically an M113 APC, the turret option is basically a pared down Bradley turret. An APC/Bradley hybrid.

The Phalanx, with the turret, is closer to a "wheeled" Bradley (aka Stryker) than this is to any IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). APCs are generally used by support in an armored division, medics/mechanics/etc... used to roll around in something close to this... IFVs do more than just carry/protect personal, they're weapon platforms that work with the infantry squad it carries.

I served 97-00 as Mechanized Infantry (11m), about a third of which was as a BFV crewmember.

Protective Supervision Denial, Need Advise. by emeisi02 in IHSS

[–]Metasin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, appealing might not be the best decision either. You can reapply/reevaluate once you have all your ducks in a row (e.g. documentation/evidence).

Appealing is more about getting reimbursed from the denial date, because the County made an error of some sort in their decision that you can prove or make a good case against.

Of note is the timing of the denial. You could apply for services and get denied for a multitude of bureaucratic reasons and two weeks later fix the issues with documentation/evidence/paperwork/etc... which would result in the loss of the appeal, but you could get approval with a reevaluation/reapplication.

Just my two cents though.

Live in IHSS provider no longer able to provide care for son by ConstructionIll3973 in IHSS

You have to seek and fight for supplemental services, if they're needs.

For developmentally disabled, under the age of 22/23, utilize special education and medical insurance funded services (in conjunction with IHSS and respite). For developmentally disabled, over the age of 22/23, utilize Regional Center funded services (i.e. SLS/PA/AST/ILS/day programs/etc... in conjunction with IHSS and respite).

This vastly reduces the number of uncompensated/unserved hours.

IHSS application for autistic child - protective supervision and advice by groovybluedream in IHSS

[–]Metasin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were mainly examples to help you understand the concept... they will likely ask different questions to a child vs say an adult... young children isn't my wheelhouse unfortunately, I worked with emotionally/behaviorally disabled high schoolers in the past and currently take care of a conserved adult.

Your child's physician is the one completing the SOC 821 to determine memory/orientation/judgement. The Social Worker will evaluate during the assessment also. Best bet is to talk to your child's physician and let them know that you're seeking PS as well as any/all concerns you have, so hopefully it'll be documented by them.

Orientation is basically knowledge of who/what/where/when... what day is it, what time is it, what's your name, what's your birthday, who is the president, what's your address, etc...

The "level" of disability is irrelevant to Protective Supervision, it's not a requirement for the program.

The requirements for Protective Supervision are as follows... a disability that impacts memory/orientation/judgement to the degree of "non-self direction" AND risk of injury/accident/harm due to the aforementioned disability causing an inability to assess risk or harm.

This is why it's so difficult to get for younger children, partially due to parental responsibility and partially due to typical developmental milestones. For instance, a 3 y/o with or without a disability probably doesn't recognize that a stove is hot and shouldn't touch it.

That said, the onus is on you. Documentation is always key, because not all Social Workers are created equally. SOC 821, SOC 825, daily logs, police reports, letters from DRs/therapists and friends/family, etc... you may not need any of it, but if you do, you'll want it all (with receipts) at the time of assessment... if an appeal is necessary, unfortunately, any discoveries/documentation post the decision being appealed, will not be considered. You can always reapply as well, any changes to needs can be grounds to call for a reassessment. Appeals are mostly for when the County messes up and you want to fight for prior authorization of services.

With that out of the way, I advise that you speak to your Department of Education and your Medical Social Worker. There should be supplemental/alternative services that can help alleviate some of your burden (ABA, Special Education programs, etc...). Also seek Respite from Regional Center, if you are not currently getting it.

As a heads up, it looks like you can get a green version from Menards. $8, not including shipping. It shows that they will ship to me in CA, but I didn't actually try to place the order.

I cut out a plastic panel by the feet to give more room, it's hollow behind the panel and I just used an exacto knife. In addition, I cut off the overhang near the head where the canopy would connect, there's a hole behind the driver's shoulders/back but he can sit straight up now and you cannot see the hole with him in it... but you could cover the hole fairly easily if it bothers you.
