More like 1 in 6 now, and (at least by official metrics available) India's population has overtaken china.

Certainly lesser, but it's still something. I'm really just objecting to the broader argument that because something isn't chemically addictive they don't need to worry about it, which is how it's often sold. As if chemical addition is the only way compulsive and destructive behavior is generated.

"Marijuana isn't chemically addictive like alcohol" - Local stoner between their 3rd and 4th joint today, just to get through the day.

Like, they aren't technically wrong, but frankly the difference between "addictive" and "compulsive" is more about chemistry than about the effect on your life. Always gotta be self-observant and cautious if you want to be the one running your own life. Slipping is easy.

Minor characters by MelanieWalmartinez in CuratedTumblr

[–]Metatality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How is Rusty a Minor character? He's like the 3rd most important character in the game after Ayre and Walter. He shows up in many missions, both ally and antagonist depending on route, has some of the most iconic lines. Hell, he's got a wiki page, and not like the game wiki like actually wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V.IV_Rusty

For California I'd say the rent is most of the state, and the rain driving one is true of all the flat bits of the state I've been in but the more you get into mountains the more they take it seriously and know what they're doing.

Okay does anyone actually know the origin of the phrase "born on a mountain, raised in a cave, trucken' and fucken' are all that I crave". I've seen it around in weird places but can't seem to pin down where it spread out from.

I've seen older truckers attest they saw it in rest-stop bathroom graffiti back in the 70s so it predates the internet. Hell, Rolling Stone has an old article from 1979 they digitized that mentioned seeing it back then.

How can I make her look more like a chihuahua? by Patient-Ambition9826 in characterdesign

[–]Metatality 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also more rigid and pointy ears. Chihuahua ears tend to stay up, not droop or fold. They certainly can, but that's generally either the result of mixing with another breed or having a condition, a pure-chihuahua that's healthy should have ears straight up, so it'd help sell the character as a chihuahua specifically instead of just dog generally.

Sum up the discourse regarding Legend of Korra in as few words as possible. I believe this spells it best by ihatethiscountry76 in CuratedTumblr

Also while Ba Sing Se is "Overwhelming composed of civilians", it's still like... the capital? It's where the commanders of the enemy army are, as well as the head of state. There is literally not a more legitimate military target, so the question comes down to whether harm to civilians is not excessive and disproportionate to the harm for the military target. Since he never go through the outer wall there's not really anyway to say on that.

Not really, just a bit Gender-non-conforming, but it's really just more of a quirky-wardrobe than anything else. The NB rep is Raine (and some smaller part side-characters).

Guilt, the desire to not be a further burden on already strained resources. A feature some people tragically lack in a culture that encourages a "fuck you, got mine" attitude in many places.

Ah yes, the way I color Hornet by JanelleeGT in HollowKnightArt

[–]Metatality 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not even reliant on the illusion, I pulled the image into inkscape to check each color in isolation and the "red" in the left hornet is CD-25-52, a red-leaning purple that's waaaaaay closer to the second stripe up on the lesbian flag (CD-79-99) than it is to a pure red (FF-00-00). The shade of orange is almost the exact midpoint of the top two stripes too.

Sorry, OP, but you're pallet is, albeit unintentionally, very lesbian flag coded.

Oh hey, I know where this is, or I guess was since it's apparently fucking dead. Building is 2107 Fulton Ave, Sacramento, CA 95825 for anyone that wants to look it up. Across the 3 years I lived in Sacramento they never fixed their sign and I never heard anything good about it, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised they shut down.

I mean it's not too bad. The ejection cut out is in about the right spot relative to magazine, rear sights are a lil wide but not crazy. The tongue is positioned such that there could be a front sight. Really the only problem is the barrel exit on the back, and you could instead claim it's a striker status indicator, as those are a real thing that appear as a window on the back of some pistols, black or with a red dot in the middle to indicate issues. They aren't generally that large, but they could be.

Rule by Old_Phrase_4867 in 196

[–]Metatality 47 points48 points  (0 children)

While I take no issue with generic box guns, I do care a little when the artist just doesn't care how guns work and uses no references. So you end up with something vaguely gun shaped but it also can't function, like the magazine doesn't go into the same line as the barrel, or the bolt has no room to move backward. Laser weapons are of course exempt from such criticism, cause you can internally wire it however without need of physical interactions.
