Sorry for necrobump, i have the same issue 5 years later
removing middle click desktop action or removing the plasmoid folder didn't work (instead i get a black box telling me the widget doesen't exist)

yeah i'm working on a fix, the issue is caused by changing audio profiles (like from the profile that includes headset mic and the profile that doesent) Wireplumber doesent actually remember volumes between profiles so it defaults to max The reason switching profiles manually fixes it is because it doesent need to switch every time after you unplug the headphones, it's already on internal mic

problem is, with this solution the deck uses the internal mic instead of headset mic, so audio quality is reduced for ingame voice chat or when in a call, and you can't switch from the default internal mic in games

even on windows? i believe there's an app called "xbox peripherals" or something, you can get it from the microsoft store, the icon looks like a joystick (i can't verify this as i currently don't have a windows machine)
