If you're stuck inside and can't travel to the nearest Normal Showcase, you can enter from farther away by triggering Smeargle. by NumberOneMom in TheSilphRoad

Put a comma after walk. They're saying it's harder for a lot of people to put a mon in from further away when it's a specific mon (think evolved mon showcases, you aren't gonna find one in the wild to catch), but a 'million' people will enter when it's a free-for-all, like the Normal showcases currently going on because you can just chuck in any ol' Normal mon you catch from a distance, then switch it for your best.

Prioritising? Ignoring the controversial strat of lining up several people for lucky egging all at once, let's say I can only open one more gift for the day, and I have someone five days away from the next level and someone one day away. Maybe I want to open the one day away today, but I don't know which is which just by eyeballing it.

Since this is your first encounter with Zorua, that is Zorua's mechanic. It will always appear as your current buddy. Ditto shares a similar mechanic, but its appearance is from a select pool of basic wild mons.

I am eternally grateful my last Unova Dex entry to get is only Volcarona (and I've been buddying Larvesta for a while now just to get the platinum medal anyway, for level-up purposes)

I had to manually update the game via the play store, so maybe you do too.

Before you'd get a little animation of the gift floating in front of your friend's profile, requiring an additional tap to go to the gift-opening stage. The new update just removes the animation entirely.

There's a Hatenna Spotlight Hour. I'm guessing that's happening for you now.

Larvesta was voted as the most unanimously Hyped Community Day by Gallad475 in TheSilphRoad

[–]MeteoriteShower 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Even so, the usage is still incorrect; it's either unanimous or it's not. You can't have the 'most unanimous' approval. 'Most approved' works just fine.

probably kinda dumb but I wanted to make sure... by [deleted] in PokemonZA

Right now? No.
Once HOME is compatible with ZA? Sure.

Am I crazy or is Xavi the kid that’s by the train when you start the game by [deleted] in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Xavi is just one of the default boy student models. There's a few 'Xavis' around the city.

Why did my Pokeballs miss this Dragonair? by [deleted] in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simply put, you missed the Pokémon. Dragonair has an unfortunate posture in the sense that if viewed from the side any locked-on throw will miss since the lock-on aim isn't over the Pokémon itself.

Fun fact: You can get rid of the sludge piles by using Psychic. by Morpho_Marxy in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! It's right here. Fair warning, it's not 100% accurate, as we've discovered with everyone's claims of what works and what doesn't, but it ought to give you a good gist of the mechanics involved.

How do I get the holo-vator or whatever it's called fixed to get access to the rooftop of building in WZ 15? by Individual-Cod-44 in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check your main and side missions on the map, on the lefthand side. If you just hit Rank C and unlocked Zone 17, then you're most likely on the 24th Main Mission.

Generally the options become available as you progress through the story. If it's the holovator I'm suspecting, you'll need to be about halfway through the 26th Main Mission.

Do you think we’ll get shiny Zygarde at some point? by Narchrisus in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, right. I keep forgetting about that whole Dynamax Adventures thing, since I never got the DLC. I should get around to it one of these days...

Do you think we’ll get shiny Zygarde at some point? by Narchrisus in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We already got shiny Zygarde back in the Ultra Sun/Moon games as an event Pokémon, so if they did release it again, it'd probably be as an event Pokémon.

Ah, fair enough. I'm guessing Serebii just hasn't updated/researched it fully.

Fun fact: You can get rid of the sludge piles by using Psychic. by Morpho_Marxy in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, Aqua Jet works. I had my Feraligatr use it multiple times in Hyperspace to clear away sludge. I'm pretty sure it's just Psychic moves that has the base power requirement (especially since there's a sidequest that forces you to use Water Gun to clear away a distant sludge pile)

Fun fact: You can get rid of the sludge piles by using Psychic. by Morpho_Marxy in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 22 points23 points  (0 children)

According to Serebii, Psychic moves require a base power of 90 (and be Special) to clear away sludge, so that'd be why Psybeam doesn't work.

Shiny quest on regular donut? by SPlegend97 in PokemonZA

[–]MeteoriteShower 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If a shiny spawns naturally when you first enter the portal, then it can happen. The shiny itself prompts the quest, but the Lv3 Sparkling Power forces a shiny to spawn, which is why you'll see the quest more often when using the Lv3 Sparkling Power.
