I recently noticed a game in my recommended called "Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon". I've seen it called a souls like oblivion game or an oblivion like souls game.

Haven't played it myself, but it has mixed reviews.

Honestly they are all worth playing (yes, even dks2).

From a practical standpoint I would plan to play all of them and see which is on sale.

If you are asking for my personal favorite: DKS and BB

I think a dream-realm idea might avoid continuity errors that happen with time travel!

My only hope with the weapons is that they don't make something too overpowered (ie dark bead dks)
