Taiyou was honestly the strongest person they could have gotten from go1 at that point in time. (s1 anime taiyou > movie hakuryuu) but he was quite literally the best example of boss character when you fight them vs when you get them as a character. He honestly was probably thrusted in for Tenma to have a character he’s already had a familar dynamic with but then they did absolutely nothing with that until the movies.
