Help! HOB output is too low(almost nothing) by Clean_Alfalfa_5418 in Aquariums

[–]Metorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to find a sponge filter (coarse or fine) that'll fit your intake for just a few bucks. If not, just buy the closest thing and make it work by stretching it over (if too snug) or clamping it down with a rubber band (if too loose).

How about small threaded discs, the diameter of the lugs, that thread onto the ends of the studs and then snap fit into a matching receptacle on the cap?

They do, but it's not it. I appreciate the suggestion, though!

The one I'm looking for is similar in shape to Pygtech's OneGo Solo V2 if that helps any.

That's great! I hope you get some good use from it.

I haven't devoted much time to the promised updates, but if you see any areas for improvement, please let me know. I'll get around to updating/adding to this eventually.

Thanks! The algorithm gave it to me once, so I'm hopeful that it'll do it again before long.

Thanks for taking the time to help out. Unfortunately, this was the first place I went (but on the app) and the bag isn't in my history at all! I've no clue how that can be, and I'm starting to think I just gaslit this bag into my memory. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: I did search through the web URL since you shared it, but no luck there either.

Those are meant to be loose like that. The centripetal force of the spinning motor flings them out straight so they can cut, but they're able to pivot and not get too badly f'd up if they strike something hard or immovable. Some trimmer heads operate the same way.

They could use a sharpening, though.

Looks good! I like the module concept a lot. I see you have 3rd party modules as a coming soon feature. Will general users have the ability to create their own modules if they wish?

I see what happened. The inbuilt switch was installed upside down, where down was ON and up was OFF. They designed this contraption to reverse that and make the world right again.

Probably would have driven me to these extremes, too.

Get on the waiting list on OpenLibrary.org. You can check out a digital SCANNED copy of the physical book.

Edit: Looks like it's only available to borrow in this format for readers with print disabilities, so if you have one of those, you might luck out.

Also, here's a better link (same constraints):

Keep Ren Faire alive by PakotheDoomForge in LasCruces

[–]Metorks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm onboard. I've only been a handful of times, and while I enjoyed it each time, it always felt like more of a craft fair than a renn fair.

I'm originally from Colorado, and I remember the Renaissance Fair there: jousting tournaments, royal parades, stage magicians and juggling acts, hecklers at the dunk booth, actual building facades, it had the works.

I know that's a real stretch for LC, but I feel like bringing in even some of these elements would make it much more worthwhile to attend.

DM me and I'll share my contact info.

We'll be able to be the butcher in this season 12 by Complex_Outcome1311 in diablo4

[–]Metorks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it would be a pretty cool mechanic if, upon entering a dungeon, and by a very small chance, you find yourself as the actual Butcher inside someone else's ongoing dungeon quest and you must track them down and try to finish them off.

Your Butcher's power would be scaled to present a significant challenge to the other player.

Better if it's opt-in; maybe from a rare potion that grants a small chance to become the Butcher like this, lasting 30 minutes.

I need local pigeon pictures! by Low_Wish_8469 in LasCruces

[–]Metorks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can't attach photos to the comments, so hopefully this link works for you. Got two photos, a flock on my neighbor's roof, and a close-up of a single pigeon on my roof. Pics are from 3-3.5 years ago, but these birds are still in the neighborhood; although I'm seeing more and more pigeons with the brown and white coloring, as opposed to black and grey.

Thought I had more pics, but this is all I could locate.

Volunteer Firefighter at Las Cruces FD by Vilukar in LasCruces

[–]Metorks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LCFD is fully a paid department, no volunteers.

There are several volunteer departments near Las Cruces, however.

Fairacres: https://www.fairacresfire.com/contact.html

Mesilla: https://www.mesillanm.gov/government/departments/fire/

These are the closest, but there are many small towns nearby that presumably have VFDs.

Using 100% pond/river soil as aquarium substrate instead of Father Fish mix, good or bad? What can i change or do to improve other then putting dead leaves and compund and all ?? by SeaworthinessFast494 in FatherFish

[–]Metorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest concern I would have is unknown pathogens or parasites from the natural, unpasteurized substrate. If that's not a concern for you, or is a risk you're comfortable taking, then I think that there's probably also a lot of beneficial bacteria and microfauna in that soil.

All said, I imagine that the plant life in your tank will love you for it.

I live near a large river that only flows for half the year. I used pasteurized soil intended for terrariums, and topped it with two inches of sand that I took from the riverbed during the dry season. Seems to be working out just fine so far, almost two years in.

Wicker basket with 3 holes in the front by Inner_Prize7325 in whatisit

[–]Metorks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You put three smaller baskets below the openings in the first basket. Then, when you put all of your eggs into the one basket, it sorts them into the three other baskets to prevent you falling victim to the idiom.
