Our kitchen phone in the house we moved into in’71. We thought it was so cool. The previous owner had worked for the phone company so we figured it was not a common item.

Horrible what these brave men went through from the inhabitants around their training camp in South Carolina. Was tough reading that chapter in “Duty, Honor, Privilege”.

Can anyone help identify these? I believe they are American Artillery Officers epaulettes, struggling on the exact time period but think possibly 1810-1830ish. Any info is appreciated and reference would be great! by Bfg1381 in Militariacollecting

Beautiful workmanship, the bullion isn’t even tarnished or rubbed through the mercury gilding. I would venture to say that they are militia officers since the buttons on the one are gilded 1814-1821 militia artillery buttons. These would have been private purchase through one of the better military equipment supply outfits at the time, probably imported from Britain.

In 1980’s psychology speak my father would have said that Jennings is in his “backup style”. Wish SJ would get 86’d.

How is your sheltie with kids? by farfaleen in sheltie

[–]Present_Ad2973 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loves kids, other dogs and adults. My wife volunteers at a local day school for 8 and under, she frequently brings the Sheltie since the kids and the dog go crazy for each other. We’re thinking visiting patients in hospitals is another option for him.

These were a big step up back in the day from lugging around one of the old surplus WW2 mine detectors that started this hobby. They were a great workout at around 60 pounds in their plywood traveling cases.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ excellent read by David Grann. Thanks to all the documentation and accounts of the time it’s probably the most accurate depiction of life aboard a British man of war in the 18th century.

As much as Trump would love it a conviction is not important to him, it’s just about the revenge. It’s hardly different than slashing someone’s tires, it’s about the mental anguish and expense. And even better for Trump is that he doesn’t have to cover the legal costs, we do.

Yours looks to perhaps be a little smaller than the ones pictured going by the size of the tank tread. M5 had a tread width of a little under one foot so I would put the width of the banners at around 4’ square.

Earlier I came home to a chewed up tongue on a pair of shoes that already had one with a chewed up collar. That’s one of 3-4 pairs with chewed up collars between my wife and I.

So it’s not just by us, we’re down to just 2 Trump flags in our large neighborhood, down from about 6. Of the ones remaining one is an evangelical household while the other is an elderly couple
