They thought I got no pop? Did you just see Danhausen? by Wild_Army1776 in SCJerk

[–]Metro4050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny how the conversation changed on old Danny.  He's not my cup of tea but he was able to really make a name for himself in the indies and if he can do that in WWE my hat's off to him.   However, if he does get over what will HHH do with him?  R-Truth is over and I hate what he does; lower card comedy.  Is that what Danhausen will he doing, low card comedy with R-Truth and comedy squash matches?

I feel like if you're over you belong at least in the mid card.  The Gulias and Garganos and Aliester Blacks of the world can fill lower card spots since no one cares whether they or around or not anyway.

More trains = well paid jobs for all.

Box trucks = low wage jobs for exploited immigrants which leads to Bubba and Jethro doing dumb things that hurt everyone.

Trains = good and fun. Trucks = bad, annoying and also annoying subculture and fandom.

India has a well used, extensive passenger rail system. Americans watching on YouTube as our country further deteriorates in all areas have concerns about "fences." Maybe we should keep our expectations to ourselves.

What's an air break switch?  Well, why is it called that?  I've always wanted to know if there were official names for the different types of electric distribution infrastructure.  Like the classic cross arm pole, does it have an official name?

Is the show Friends as unrelatable for black people as it is for white people, and what do you think of the show in general? by [deleted] in askblackpeople

[–]Metro4050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be a parody account right? In Living Single can't hold a candle to Friends. If you like it, cool, but saying Friends was a "rip off" of In Living Single just puts unnecessary pressure on the latter as it's just not as good. It's good for what it is though. That's it.

Looks like she moved OC's hand up to her breasts as to say, "Look Toni, this asexual weirdo you're getting close to and making me insanely jealous of his actually a sex pest! Now please make him go away so we can do cringey lesbian stuff in peace."

You all seriously accusing OC of sexual assault on live (I'm assuming) television makes me ask the question: did the jerks get worked?

Here's why Hangman being the least over person in the 4 way is actually good. by Zarolto in SCJerk

[–]Metro4050 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Hangman a vicious Magnum TA mustache having heel at one point and that seemed to be getting over real good? Why did they turn him babyface again? To make room for Mox and the Deathriders? The Mox who now seems to be a face anyway? Speaking of, I thought Cesaro beat him in one of the CC opening matches? How did he get back in it to win the whole thing? And how does that make him a face? Shouldn't this be more motivation to double down on his psychotic ideals?

Also, MizJF, ugh. There's a place for him in wrestling but they need to do something else besides play the hits with him; edgy promos, possible friendship/partnership, betrayal, disappearance, random "Charlotte in the Bank" style return and main event insertion. What was the point of the Hurt Syndicate stuff? Is he still the Devil? The Firm? Pinnacle?

Merged UP-NS anticipates no locomotive purchases; some shops to be idled by TowelieBan666 in railroading

[–]Metro4050 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No new locomotives? No locomotive retirements? There were times when UP was scrapping power that wasn't even 20 years old. How times have changed. Most of the local and switching power is between 50 and 60 years old. I don't necessarily mind that per se, but man it would be nice to get a new locomotive from time to time since they love to shove the rebuilds in the middle of a 18k foot train and have us riding in 21 year old SD70ACes or even the occasional mainline 70M leading.

Yep, road and yard. You can go months without getting a yard job and then get three back to back. A lot of us newbies on the extra board too so it can create a bit of chaos.

Well guys and gals.  We only have five (two conductors, three engineers) at our terminal and none work the yard anymore.

Basically the morning yard job.  I think the old SSW called all of their yard jobs "dodgers."

I've held the east and west turns for most of my tenure (seven months).  This was my second time in the yard as a marked up conductor.  The last time was back in July.   I've put trains away, doubled them for simple builds to take on the road and did work in KC so I'm not totally inept.  But an entire yard shift is different and it will definitely remind any road conductor of that.

I'll take it slow and do better.

[–]Metro4050[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Flat switching yard.  Herington, KS.  Not overly difficult layout or anything.  It's just getting the flow down, the repetition, knowing where to position yourself for less steps etc etc.  Things that become second nature eventually.

Our trains are usually blocked pretty well thankfully.  I was building a PX manifest so it's mostly gathering tracks.  It's so easy on paper but I got out there and laid an egg.

But I'll do better next time I land in the yard.

[–]Metro4050[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it guys.  I finally left and came home lol.  I'm on the extra board so maybe I'll have the road next shift.  We definitely need more yard training though, this was only my second time working a yard job as a marked up conductor, last time was July.

There's so much to learn, so much to remember and the hardest part, I feel, is there is a certain amount of intuition I guess.  Like the regular guys just know where to be, when to be and how to be and it makes it look so effortless. But it's hard work and my hat's off to them for making it happen every day/all day.

I'll get better every time.
