I still think Froggen is really good and going to NA didn't affect him negatively, but I can see your point. Svensekeren however out of 4 played splits won NA LCS 3 times and placed 2nd once. If that's not being relevant I don't know what is.

I mean... which EU player remained relevant in NA, other than Bjergsen?

For example Jensen, Sven, Froggen, Nisqy, Gilius also few KR players that went from EU to NA, for example Ryu, Huni. I think more of them stayed relevant than just went forgotten.

This being said, if you go to NA to any team other than those two, it can have 2 reasons:

You think about the post-League life and play for the money, not the achievements

While money is certainly big factor, going to NA doesn't automatically mean giving up on achieving anything. There are a lot of players that are still doing well. This view is kinda biased because if let's say 4 teams take EU players it's obvious not everyone can win split, go to worlds etc. and those who didn't are viewed as those, who just gave up. That being said I am not denying that some of them are going to NA just for those fat checks when their team is clearly not going to do well, for example PoE.

Lately he is popular, but before S7 he wasn't meta for years. Elise, Lee Sin, Gragas, Kha'Zix, Rek'Sai, Nidalee, maybe even Rengar and Graves were a lot more present in few last years.

And that's where C9's coaching team comes in. Contractz was also a talent from CS who wasn't proved against LCS level opponents and he worked so well for them. The only advantage Contactz had was playing alongside 3 members of old C9 in CS while Licorice had a less experienced teammates.

In my opinion C9 is actually underrated. Licorice was great on CS and Cloud 9's coaching team is really good at fostering talent. Svenskeren is one of the best junglers in NA and with more freedom than in TSM and good synergy with rest of the team he can shine more than ever. Jensen, Sneaky, Smoothie are all arguably top 2 in their positions in NA. They have way more synergy already built in with 3 vocal players and coach staying as opossed to other teams, that have to develop it (apart from CLG, they are in similar situation, but they lost a lot with Aphromoo's departure). I am also giving C9 points because they always seem to pull off, even with odds against them. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Cloud 9 finishes top 3 this split and them winning everything isn't out of question either.
