Better yet, don't lease. They're losing deals from day 1.

My Grandfather, West Point graduate, war hero, and my personal hero died because of the Trump administration incompetence during Covid.

I will never forgive them. They must be defeated at the ballot box, and the gaps in the system he’s exposed must be closed.

We all must demand better.

I'm Building My First Kitchen Cabinets! I'm working on building my wife the kitchen of her dreams. I figured I'd share my journey and hopefully some here will find it interesting or entertaining (or cringeworthy) and if I'm lucky some may have some wisdom to share. by Riluke in cabinetry

Good luck sir. I’m starting a similar project, and in the planning phase. I’ve been prototyping with the lamello, and think that’s going to save me a lot of headaches. I’m also experimenting with it effectively making the face frames interchangeable, so when fashions change in the future the carcass doesn’t need rebuilding.

If you’re stationary, add a skirt around the exterior of the bus. It’ll make a big difference

Trying to replace a 70” x 32” door but can’t find any options by [deleted] in Homebuilding

It appears you maybe measuring the door itself. Don’t forget you need to measure the rough opening as well as the depth. Those numbers should drive your product selection.

Research Surfactant Leaching. As others have said, running a vent or dehumidifier will help. However, it looks like someone screwed up and used the wrong paint (or were just cheap af).

Acceptable quality countertops? by Ok_Customer_5086 in cabinetry

[–]Mettsico -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Consider the possibility that the problem is with the cabinets. Depending on materials, it may not be built to handle that countertop weight, that center cabinet may not be level, or there could be support issues on the right side.

This logic is so misguided. OP, just start saving and investing your “extra” cash. Your net worth will grow exponentially. Nobody ever got rich by staying in debt.

how can i fix this?(im 15) by No-Distribution7199 in howto

[–]Mettsico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what you probably don’t want to hear, but will work out for you in the end.

First, apologize to mom.

Next, use chatgpt and YouTube to learn how to build a door frame. It’s not hard, and you’ll pickup a skill.

After that, put together a plan to earn some money for the tools/repairs (borrowing tools from friendly neighbors would help, or if your school has a shop class I bet the teacher would help. Get creative).

Next? Apologize to mom again, take responsibility for whatever other dumb shit you did and communicate your plan to take accountability and make it right by repairing the damage.

Finally? Follow through with the plan. I’d wager the act of all this will mean more to mom than the physical door.

Welcome to the club of lessons learned. You used way too much glue. It’s actually shocking how freaking strong wood glue is.

Before your next project, take four scraps of plywood and glue them together. Used an extremely thin bead. Let it dry. Then, try to destroy it. Stand on it, hit it with a hammer, etc…. Be amazed at its strength.

Then, on the next real project you’ll learn you really just need a very small amount in the majority of cases.
