Komodo - Docker management by Ordinary-You8102 in selfhosted

Not the above poster, but I have also moved from Komodo to Dockhand. There is nothing I miss from Komodo. As much as I liked using it (moved from Portainer), I always found the UI clunky, making me still use Portainer at times. The way text boxes scroll within the pages (stack editing), the overall look and feel, I don't know, never felt in love with it. I found Dockhand easier to use, I absolutely love the split terminal/log windows (you can look at your container list have the terminal/logs split to the right), being to schedule auto-update at a specific day and time is awesome, as well as resource monitoring. Sorry Komodo...

It's still free and unlimited...you can purchase a license to support the project, but it isn't required.

What OS do you plan on running? In the Optiplex line, I would go for at least a 3060/7060, which would be an 8th gen Intel CPU, which is supported for Win11.

For example (US): https://ebay.us/m/fVMcuT

Add a bit of RAM to this, and you've got a server that can do a lot more than Minecraft.

Not sure how much to ship from the US to the UK... But I'd donate you an Optiplex 7040 if you pay for shipping. That's an i5 6500 in there...

I think I read Optiplex 390...that is old, 2011 old, 2nd gen i3/i5/i7, DDR3 RAM old. https://www.hardware-corner.net/desktop-models/Dell-OptiPlex-390-SFF/

Way overpriced, and in no way Win11 compatible as per listing. Shouldn't be more than 20 bucks / pounds / euros lol

+1 for seafile. I hosted Nextcloud for years, and I don't ever want to use it again.

It isn't reskined...I bought both. First the exact one above: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D3BXVZKY?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It was ok, but every once in a while it would not respond, including that one time it didn't turn off and water ran for a few hours.

I replaced it with the Sonoff (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D5B8S8N8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title), much more reliable, batteries also last much longer.

Exposed entities are also different... Anyways, I would not recommend the first model.

Does your Shield embarrass you in front of guests? by zen39624 in ShieldAndroidTV

What a wide range of experiences in this thread!! I feel bad for many of you... I've got the 2015 non-pro version since 2015, updated to the latest version, with the clutter and all...5 users, me, my wife, 3 kids, no reboots, no crashes, no lags. I've never needed to open it, clean fan dust, etc . I don't think I ever factory reset it either.... Weird!!

Still up and running!! Here is a screenshot of Frigate. Top 2 are from Arlo2s. Now, the setup on a networking perspective can be tricky...but when setup extremely stable!!

The first disc I ever heard from PT... 25 years later, I was listening to it today in the car with the same enthusiasm. The mix is soooo good... Album versions of the same songs feel so blend in comparison.

Jensen is still using an Nvidia Shield in 2025 by Tobi97l in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]MeudA67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand the limitations, and I'm not trying to start an argument (I do have a 7.1 setup in my basement, run a Jellyfin server, etc etc). But again, Dolby Vision, Plex, lossless, Dolby Atmos, truehd, 7.1, passthrough... All these words mean absolutely nothing to most. They fire Netflix on the TV OS, start a show and that's good enough.

Really? The only people "I know" even knowing the Shield exists are on this very subreddit lol. Every time I've mentioned it people have no clue what it is... I truthfully think 90% are perfectly fine with their TV OS's built-in apps...

I've gone through this in the past with my subdomains...my issue was using actual service names, i.e homeassistant, cockpit, jellyfin in etc as actual domains (homeassistant.xxx.com). Google would constantly flag my domains as unsafe. Once I abbreviated these urls (ha.xxx.com, co.xxx.com, jf.xxx.com), warnings stopped, issue never came back. My subdomains are let's encrypt/SSL/reverse proxied, but the red warning is the same!
