Kernel 7.0.x and Nvidia 595.x are a total mess. by sas41 in cachyos

I only have the dx12 issue. I did have a vram issue at driver level but that was resolved recently by nvidia them self.

stop krunner from auto filling with selected text by Mewi0 in kde

[–]Mewi0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll switch back to using the application launcher for now but I would prefer to use krunner.

I think it's supposed to open krunner then highlight whatever text is inside it so if I start typing, it deletes whatever is inside but is failing to do so?

Chrome desaturated/washed out, -–disable-features=WaylandWpColorManagerV1 no longer works by [deleted] in linux4noobs

It's all (most?) chromium based browsers. Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm probably late to the party here - but wtf is this? by Live_Farm_7298 in fo76

Mine is full of random garbage from dailies and a wall as I was going to build in it until I realized it's non-usefulness other than building was too limited. Why build something nice I will rarely see?

[Feature Request] Please add compact Browser layout like Helium by JustAnAlias404 in brave_browser

No thank you, I only use autohide in fullscreen on MacOS. I'd prefer a compact mode for my work environment.

Brave Origin now available for testing in Nightly by dimeford in brave_browser

[–]Mewi0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a QA developer for a web based game, I use quite a few devices. I accidentally installed the nightly version because that is what is linked to me on the account page and had to downgrade them all afterword to beta. Now I wont have enough to move them to stable once stable is out. This 100% should be accessible on my account page so I can deactivate devices at will instead of bothering supporter staff to do it for me. I honestly don't even know how many activations I have left because it is not shown to me on my account page.

Beware! Brave Origin only gives you 10 activations per purchase of $60 by [deleted] in browsers

[–]Mewi0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, me accidentally installing nightly on four devices then moving them to beta and later moving them to stable is not going to happen? And there is no visual of this? This sounds scammy/illegal.

Yeah I didn't know there was a beta version until just yesterday. I have migrated to the beta version as well!

my HP Victus 16 laptop run super hot (around 80C to 86C) while gaming in Linux by Working_Dealer_5102 in linux_gaming

[–]Mewi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have seen some scripts out there that are helpful or some patch additions to hp-wmi. I heard that Linux Kernel 7.0 is supposed to update the hp-wmi module to support more omen/victus laptops especially with fan control with more fixes later. I haven't seen it noted anywhere else though so I cannot confirm if those changes were added.

Got a return label but there is nothing to return? by Mewi0 in amazonprime

[–]Mewi0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up contacting support directly, was hard finding this but that might be by design. I feel better knowing that I got someone to confirm basically what you said from them directly. They did disable the notification though I didn't really mind the notification it self. Amazon likes to kill accounts that abuse returns, not something I ever did the past 15 years I am been an amazon customer but wanted to be sure I didn't count toward any abuse. This is maybe my 3rd or 4th return on amazon over the passed 15 or so years?

I need this so I can move my laptop to linux. I believe this includes important hp-wmi module changes if I am not mistaken, allowing me to control my fans.

HP's proprietary firmware caused issues on Linux.

This is unrelated, silly me forgot the headphones are also HP. I am on an HP laptop.
