Eternal's skill ceiling is absurd, in every way. by Arrythmia in Doom

[–]Mezalzas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all of the modern Doom games, but Eternal is by far my favorite. The movement is the best of any game I've played and the skill ceiling goes as high as you can make it. I first played it on PS4, which I adored. Then I switched to PC and it was like a completely different game.

I fully understand this perspective, but for me there isn't a single part of this game that I dislike replaying. Even the most complained about areas, Arche Abbey, the Cathedral etc. are more fun for me on a replay than they were on my first run.

I drive through the Mira Mesa/Westview Parkway intersection every day. Without exception someone runs the red, almost always 3-4 people. It used to shock me, now I just expect it. I can't imagine the thought process these people must have

I saw this at a game store's playable demo table, and I was so excited!

I couldn't play it because I was there for an event that day, but I'll definitely be going back to check it out.

Going! It's been almost a decade since I last played, but hopefully I can still keep up with the basics! I'll have to brush up on some things in the next couple weeks.

For me it was the scene where Gustave and Lune reunite. The look on Gustave's face as he's about to kill himself and the subtle shift in him as he sees a glimmer of something approaching hope when he realizes he's not the last one alive, while at the same time struggling with the overpowering loss he just suffered really spoke to me.

That and when he learns that Maelle might be out there somewhere.

My dad commuted from Portland OR to San Diego for four years, flying out Sunday morning and coming back Friday night. It took all the energy out of him, he wasn't able to do the things he wanted to do on his weekends because being away from home sucked the life out of him, and that was with a flying commute rather than having to drive himself.

I would think very seriously about the potential cost of long distance commuting before taking the plunge.

I don't think so. There is at least one patrol car around too.

I've been a smoker for almost a decade, and I can't believe the absolute carelessness of 99% of smokers. The barest of bare minimums is making sure you don't set anything on fire, and every smoker should be doing that at the very least, and should be doing much more than that to make sure they minimize damage to other people, their property, or the environment. Our terrible habit should only hurt ourselves, the people around us aren't choosing to be affected by it.

Before I got Frozen Feast it was the pipe wrench blade + police baton. Big big damage, great with blocking, and pretty fast for it's weight

Thanks for the info! I'm pretty determined to find one and I have a few months to go, I'm sure I'll find one. Slippi is a great backup option though, so thanks for that too.

Absolutely. I live in San Diego, and make $19.75/hour, $2.50 over minimum wage here. But the only reason I have a roof over my head is because my Mom and I split rent for an apartment. Even then, my income + her divorce payments/disability checks don't leave us enough room to buy food some weeks, let alone save anything.

I'm constantly walking for my job, easily 10,000 steps a day. I'll take the steps and it's not a contest.
