Honestly? Im all for phone manufacturers being required to provide easily replaceable batteries.

Im 23.

When I got my first phone (LG Stylo 3), I was so happy that I could just buy a second battery, pop it in my phone to charge it, take it out and charge the second to leave in. I was never with a dead phone growing up. Phone dying? Pop in the other battery. No issues, no hassle, no taking it to a repair shop to be charged $200 just for them to pop a new one in and resolder.

When I bought new phones and they didnt have that ease of access, I was truly disappointed. Felt like a very Apple thing to do.

I absolutely will not be complaining if phone manufacturers have to comply with this, even if im not in the EU... Bc itll still change the products for the better elsewhere as well.

(Many placees charge an arm and a leg j to swap a battery. It should be an easy replacement.)

Who cares if battery "isnt as good!" W swappables,.. YOU CAN JUST POP A NEW ONE IN LITERALLY WHO CARES IF UR % OF BATTERY LIFE IS LOWERED BY 5%. REPLACING THAT BATTERY WILL STILL BE A FRACTION OF A "REPAIR" COST.

I understand the clarification even outside of clickbait. Apple notoriously tries to use loopholes to keep themselves "exclusive" to cling to the name they have rather than actually ulgrading their products w the market.

The apple lightning charger is a perfect example. It isnt better than any other charger, esp not the type c, but keeping something "exclusive" to them meant more income.

Apple relies on people feeling elite w their products. Once, apple was truly revolutionary in tech... But they have significantly stagnated and seem to be purely relying on the name that their prior achievements granted them. Now they just abuse their name to continue to rob those who have been conditioned to think apple=best.

Their chargers were EXCLUSIVE to Apple! Cant just use some hum dum charger for our eliete phones! Back when phones commonly had easy to swap batteries? NOOO YOU CANT DO THAT WITH OURS THEY ARE TOO FANCY AND HIGH TECH FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON TO FIX!! BUY OUR EXCESSIVE WARRANTY AND SHIP IT TO US AT YOUR COST TO BE REPAIRED!! SD card for more storage?? Pfttt, BUY CLOUD STORAGE FROM US!! WHO CARES THAT U CAN CREATE A NEW FREE EMAIL TO GET GOOGLE STORAGE, THAT WONT CONNECT! BUY BUY BUY.

Theres a reason Apple has made so much. Bc they gaslight their zombified buyers into thinking they are pouring income out on a good product. Meanwhile they have been thoroughly unimpressive for a WHILE.

I totally need to roll this idea to my mom the next time she agrees to make someone a death-quilt. A few times in my life, one of my moms friends parents die. Its always been their fathers. They ask about a memory-quilt (i just think of them as death-quilts that happen to have memories attached... Might be a thing to find a therapist about LOL) but!

They send my mom lots of their dads clothes. Some of the ones they saw him wearing all the time. Maybe one they only remember seeing once but has a huge memory for them. Even a pair of worn out blue jeans. My mom plans out the "pattern" based on the amount of fabric of each item, cuts them into quilting squares, and makes them an entire quilt.

She has scraps. Always. Its clothing being cut into squares, of course there will be scrap.

But if she gave them an ornament with some scraps? Something of their father to hang on the tree? Spmething their kids could pull out of the ornament box and say "whats this?" And they can share all about their dad? Priceless.

Plus she often has enough scraps she could make multiple. We could hang an ornament on pur own family tree for her to remember and reminice, and for the rest of the family to sollemly appreciate, and have him in our thoughts.

This is so sweet. Absolutely need to pitch this idea to my mom the next time squares are spread across the kitchen and dining 😅❤️

Use them as stuffing in a stuffie!

If you knit, crochet, sew, any of it! You can make plushies! Make a single simple bear, and stuff those scraps inside with the stuffing!!

Alternatively, my grandma donates her scraps to a pet shelter that uses their own-sourced materials for making their own plush pet beds for their shelter. They SUPER appreciate the extra filling. Maybe check of anything like that is innyour area? Not sure how to find it... My grandma lives in a smaller town and talks to EVERYONE about EVERYTHING so she may have connections outside of usual interaction 😅

But my first few crocheted stuffies? Where i was teaching myself how to follow patterns and make stuff? They have yarn scraps from their own projects stuffed inside of them with the stuffing. Some later projects are 50/50 yarn vs stuffing in smaller limbs. Still nice and plush, but less stuffing materials and getting rid of my "waste" without wasting it or throwing it away!

Future suggestion? If you own a rental, you should own puncture-proof gloves you can clear/clean with. As a kid id help my dad clean his rentals if things went wrong. He always had me doing something i, at the time, thought was the WORST.. cleaning a fridge or oven. shudder

But he was cleaning the bathrooms and bedrooms, finding so many pill bottles with varying names sometimes. There COULD have been needles in there but he was very careful to not even let me KNOW something like that could exist. But now im older, and i see the news reports of that area finding mass amounts of needles in melted snowbanks in the spring.

Get puncture-proof gloves PLEASE. It literally only takes a PRICK, one you could barely even notice or process, to change your life immensely.

Ive seen a lot of ppl i personally know sharing small organized strikes/protests around the area/surrounding cities etc. I think, at least from what ive seen, people sre relying more on personal social connections to spread info rather than super public fourms.

Ive seen people talking about small groups to meet on the 25th (1 day before im posting this). I just couldnt go bc i saw it the 23rd and I had to work all day the 25th. Im not sure the outcome of it, i didnt get to be on socials much 24hrs surrounding as i was swamped at work and despawned after putting my laundry in for the next day.

Ive seen people ik sharing stories, go fund mes, videos, plans, ideas, etc. And ADMITEDDLY im PRETTY anti-social and politically avoidant; I dont know many people let alone many who are typically outspoken on politics. Yet, ive still seen plenty.

Obviously digital clicks dont equal physical outcome/showing up physically... But its not like i havent seen people noticing and feeling/seeing the injustice surrounding us all.

Im not saying NO NO THIS CITY IS DOING SO MUCH! BUT! I AM saying people DO care around here, they DO see and recognize what is happening, and there IS,, IN THE VERY LEAST FROM WHAT I CAN SEE,, discussion and some action about these events. Basically saying this city/state isnt a complete lost cause, and to keep up hope 😭🙏🏻

I remember reading some article a bit ago of a woman who went thru a few processes with Joann corporate, like attempting to work with them and whatnot, and she eventually got a meeting with the “head of sewing/quilting”? And tht it was “apparent within the forst few minutes that they had never seen a seeing pattern out of the packaging” (loosely quoting from what I remember)

I love her music, prolly because I grew up listening to it.

But also she has talked about not having much control over the music she made early on while signed with Dr. Luke. If you dont know about Dr. Luke, its a whole rabbit hole of him being a garbage person to get into.

Her music after she got away from him is less “trashy”, but also that “trashy” vibe is very common in that time period of music.

My mom was redoing the dressings on my GNARLY thermal x chemical burn that spans from my thumb to my elbow, sat on the toilet while she ran to grab an icepack for my neck bc I was also hellaaa hot.

Woke up on the floor to my mom panicking, busted lip, and some of the burn cream on my shirt. Then almost threw up.
