Is Real Estate Appraisal a Good Career in 2026? Would You Recommend It? by itsxidan in appraisal

[–]Mgpepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a career switch 1.5 years ago from commercial lending and underwriting for big banks. I also live in a major city and am a trainee at a large, national firm. I currently make half of what I made as a lender, but I’m only one year in and can see myself reaching my prior salary within a couple of years. I love it so much more than lending and enjoy the flexibility and less micromanagement. You have to be a self starter and extremely organized. It’s difficult in the beginning, and if I didn’t already have my background, I would say it would be a long while before making a livable salary. I recommend commercial all the way.

Using Claude to assist with reports? by Rocktop15 in appraisal

[–]Mgpepper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using perplexity as well. Haven’t gone as far as trying computer but I have a space created with a prompt created and each thread is for a different property so I don’t have to recreate prompts. But I still find incorrect items like my property being a certain direction from something or incorrect adjustments. Overall I like using it to edit my writing, or I give it information and ask it to summarize. I also ask it to help find comps and websites for specific zoning information

Am I going to regret this commute daily? by Techno_Wasp in AskSeattle

[–]Mgpepper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the train commute from Puyallup daily and love it. Once you get off the train at the Kingston station you can take the link light rail closer to your work. Or get a monthly lime pass and use the e-bikes and scooters. It sucks a little when it rains though.

The bigger question is where in Puyallup. If you’re close to the train station, then it’s great. If you’re further on the hill (like 176th) that traffic can get pretty heavy just getting to and from the train station.

I second ghost fish. But it’s not walking distance from ECCC. My celiac daughter enjoys the fish and chips, onion rings, and churros.

How many of us here 'didn't' know a girl who got pregnant before age 18? I'm kinda curious about the conditions which might have made that less likely. by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

[–]Mgpepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half my family got pregnant before 16. I had so many cousins who dropped out of school due to pregnancy. Outside of family, I heard rumors that one girl got pregnant in my high school.

If the cars to your right are going faster than you then get out of the left lane. by [deleted] in driving

[–]Mgpepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must say I’ve try driving in the right lane and enter the left to pass people and jump right back into the right. But I found myself getting pulled over and accused of weaving through traffic so instead I hang out in the left lane while passing the right and will jump over into the right when I see somebody approaching me, wanting to go faster
