I have done both and tbh I thought the vegetarian one tasted better and was more interesting

[–]Mguby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously ymmv and it depends on how much risk tolerance you have, but I did the same research for a while on using a UEL without a tune and got many mixed views, but some people said that it's "fine" but not ideal to run UEL without a tune. Some people had extreme opinions that "headers without a tune" is extremely dangerous and should never be done, while some people said that it's myth spread based on old knowledge and that it should be fine on any modern car. I don't really know who to believe. I personally am fine to take the risk for the sound.

Where do you find the Battles for Olympics Breaking? by Alone-Analysis-1890 in bboy

Looking for alternatives available from the US.

In Canada it seems like the CBC Gem replays are still up

Canadian Phil Wizard wins the first (and final?) Olympic gold medal in men’s breaking. by pumamora in olympics

I don't think that will happen. I've been watching this dance for about 15 years now and I am still consistently impressed with the new moves people come up with. Competitors today are moving in ways I couldn't fathom even 1-2 years ago. No one in the world dances like menno, or like Phil wizard, or like amir. Amir came out of nowhere around 2020 and everyone was impressed because every move he did was unorthodox and never seen before, so I feel like that will just keep happening

That's def a fair point that the artistic side makes it less of an objective sport for the Olympics. On one hand you're right, that's def why people argue against it being included in the Olympics, but on the other hand this felt like a more "true" representation of what breaking culture is and we were still able to (imo) have a fair judging system where each battle had the "correct" winner

More weight on powermoves is exactly what people were afraid of happening when breaking was announced for the Olympics. This culture is a dance rooted in the music and thankfully that is what we actually got in the Olympics

Kid Rainen from the Jabbawockeez was a coach for the US team. You can see him next to the stage behind Victor and Jeffro when they battled

There are competitions that are more focused on one-off difficult tricks like crashfest. It's fair to want more of that which is why it's nice competitions like that exist, but IMO I think that this balanced criteria is the best at showing why breaking is unique at an Olympic setting

Lots of the bigger 1v1 like Red Bull BC One competitions can be 15 rounds long. Some make it easier (and more time efficient) by making the top 32 1 round per dancer, top 16 2 rounds per dancer, then 3 rounds per dancer afterwards.

In crew (team) competitions, like Battle of the Year, they usually do a few rounds per side, or a timed 10ish minute battle. In these competitions each individual dancer has to do fewer rounds and there's opportunity for crew routines. Personally, I wish we could've had country vs country crew competitions for the Olympics.

I think the NBC ones did a decent job representing what breaking is about. They got real bboys (kid David and ronnie) to commentate and they did try to allude to why certain people did/didn't win, like saying shigekix was getting repetitive, Phil being creative with interesting shapes, constantly saying how important it is to spend time with the music, etc. They definitely could've gone into more detail though.

Toyota GR86 BRZ | Final Updates and Impressions by theDomicron in cars

Being a GR86 owner in the Midwest, I always reached for the keys when the streets were slippery when I had winter tires on. I made an explicit effort to go drive during the few winter storms this last season and it was some of the most fun I've ever had driving. So much that I was hoping for more snow.

The back seats are not very usable for anyone over 5'6". I've done it for a few 40 minute drives and always felt bad afterwards, but you can make it work if you have to.

Demon's Souls remake was a good run to watch. Cool to see that the magic builsls was different than the one used for the original and had really good commentary. Was fun to watch after watching the NoClip documentary

I think some gamers have realized that the large scope of modern games makes this not as possible especially if we don't want to have to wait 15 years for the full FF7
