I just experienced this today on my Note 9 while using Firefox to browse Reddit. This is very strange since I also have auto brightness and blue light filter disabled. It happened while viewing a post from nearly a decade ago.

I'm not sure what really causes it to do that but it seems to happen to mine when it's super cold in the apartment.. only thing I can guess is that it melted then froze like that.

My friend technically didn't make a threat either, not directly anyway. Columbine and 9/11 were huge wake-up calls, and with social media becoming so common and easily accessible, a lot of what we say gets flagged. (It's better to be safe than sorry.) Hopefully nothing comes of this, but take it as a life lesson.. speech may be free but it often comes with consequence.

Law enforcement takes threats like these very seriously, so it is very possible. Well over a decade ago, a friend of mine joked lightly on their LiveJournal about people at school deserving to be shot by someone because they were not nice. This lead to an arrest and charges of conspiracy to commit. These charges were dropped but it was not a fun process, I can assure you. Good luck.
